Feel what others are feeling

Question:

Salams.
I sometimes feel what someone is going through. E.g. i had hairfall like a cancer patient. Few wks later i found out my cousin had brain cancer. The hairfall stopped. What does this mean and what are my responsibilities in such cases?

Answer:

wa alaikum salam,

It means you have been tasked with carrying burdens of others ( and thus releiving them to some degree) to the level which you have capacity. Your responsibility is to ask Allah to remove what you are experiencing from others and yourself, and to maintain constant prayers, duas and dhikr to the best of your ability. Allah knows best.
