Near Death Experience?

Question:

Assalaamualaykum,
I was trying to sleep for a while after tahajud prayer, then I heard my father called me, it was around 03:45 am. I can not wake up. My mind is fresh, but my body cannot move even a little.

I recite dzikr in my heart. First, I recite Laa ila ha ilallah over & over, then I made tawassul, I heard from my behind like so many people recite Laa ila ha ilallah. Still I cannot move my body. I feel I wake up from bed, but my body is still in bed. Then I change my dzikr, and recite Allah, Allah over & over. Then the first part of my body I can move is my tongue, slowly recite Allah, Allah, then I move my body suddenly and wake up. This is the hardest experience I had.

What happened to me ya Sayyidi? And why this time is harder?

Wassalaamualaykum

Answer:

`Alaykum Salam,
Since you were in dhikr all the time it is the best state and the best time of day as well. As for fatigue or difficulty, as related from Sayyidina `Isa (upon him peace), the spirit is willing but the body is weak. So although our soul is getting stronger and more spiritual, still the body is lagging behind but over time we get stronger insha Allah.
