Question:
Salaam, Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani Shb.
I have been granted the permission to read the Dua of Hazrat Dawood along with “hasbunallah wa ni’ama ‘l-wakeel 100 times daily.
May I please know the method of reciting the Dua of Hazrat Dawood, I have confusion between “Allah humma layin QALBA [name of guy] ibne [name of parent] kama layyintal HADIDI li syedina Dawood Ahlis Salaam”
or Allah humma layin QALBI [name of guy] ibne [name of parent] kama layyintal HADIDA li syedina Dawood Ahlis Salaam.
Do I say the name of the mum or his dad? Also how many times and when am I required to read it and for how many days?
I am thankful for your help Sheikh Shb.
Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
Qalba and hadida, as the “a” ending is required for both, since they are direct objects of the verbs layyin and layyanta respectively. Mention father or mother, 40 days is enough.
