Question:
as-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
Dear shaykh, may Allah be pleased with you.
Recently I memorized Hizb-ul-Bahr, because I love this text with its meaning wal hamdulillah. I started to read this text in the beginning because I was searching for an easy readable litany to gain assistance from Allah for my own “Bahr of problems” and since then I keep on reading it.
But I keep on hearing that one needs permission to read this text? How come? This text is compiled from passages from the Quran en Ahadeeth. Allah gave us the greatest gift, the Quran and the Ahadeeth without permission to read, except we read it in a proper way and Islamic rituals.
I would like to understand why one needs permission to read the Hizb-ul-Bahr. And how can I get permission to read it wa khair insha Allah?
Wa ahsan Allahu ilaykum.
