I would like to ask you about the correct procedure of doing Tassawur Ism-e-Zaat “Allah”. Please explain how should one focus the Divine name “Allah” written on the Qalb. What sort of concentration or imagination is required?

Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
There is no imagination in Islam, but yes there is concentration. Therefore, concentrate your heart on Allah’s Name and Allah will open to you. Don’t run to satisfy your desires by reaching these knowledges. If you begin to make yourself getting pleasure from that, it will stop. So no need to mention anything and keep focusing. The Prophet (s) mentioned that to focus for one hour is better than to worship 70 years. So with this way of tasawwur and taffakkur you will insha-Allah reach what you want.
