Question:
Salam,
I was given permission from this site to recite the duah Hazrat Dawood for a man that I love and wish to marry; however, I have a couple questions:
1. Do I have to wear the taweez? I have heard that one is not supposed to wear any sort of taweez on their body (some people wear it as necklaces, etc)
2. Can I fast on a different day instead of Thursday? Such as a Saturday or any other day?
3. This man is currently not my spouse but I wish to marry him so will the duah still work inshAllah?
4. Lastly, if the duah does not work then what would i do next?
I know there are many questions but please answer them, I know your very busy but this is my third time asking. I hope to hear to from you soon InshAllah
Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
1. Based on the instructions given here, yes. We have not heard any of our scholars say that you cannot wear taweez on your body/arm. See the Post “Adab of Taweez“.
2. For desirable results, it is better do as instructed in-sha-Allah
3. See the answer in the Post “Permission for Du`a”
4. Shaykh Gibril has said to wear the taweez for 40 days, and if no improvement then move on.
