For how many Thursdays do we fast? How many times do we recite it and for what time period? Will it be considered as black magic? Do we need permission for it? If yes, can you permit me? What is the exact method to recite it? For how long do we wear the taweez?

There is general permission to read Sayyidina Dawud (as)’s dua. The exact method to recite it has been explained here. Shaykh Gibril has also said to wear the tawiz for 40 days, and if no improvement then move on.
