Few questions :)

Question:

Assalamou alaykoum,
*Does showering often decreases the body’s natural oils therefore causing to age prematurely, can you please clarify that.
*Is it better to shower with cold water ?which better for skin?
*What foods in Islam are excellent for anti-aging? for I follow our prophets medicine hamdullillah and I have strong faith in its effects.
*Is it true that if we miss our obligatory Salat, then Allah does not hear our duas and does not help us when we need help?
*I doubt my own ability to do things. I have (Alhamdulillah) tremendous artistic talent and I always hide them because I am too shy. is there a dua I can make to alter this.

Thank you very much for you always taking the time to teach me and help me learn more and I am very grateful for this website.

Jazakallahu kairan and Salam to everyone on eshaykh.com

Answer:

audhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem,

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem,

wa `alaykum salam,

Showering and wudu with the intention of purification for worship is a method of Prophetic medicine to remove sins and diseases, thereby improving your spiritual and physical well being.  Similarly, any of the Prophet’s dietary practices are full of blessings and health, such as honey in the morning with hot water (or tea in these days) or having dates and milk in mid morning.  The higher the temperature, the more of your skins oils are removed so dermatologists usually recommend showering in lukewarm (not hot) water or cooler to prevent drying out the skin.
