We have been married for 3 years and, AlhamdulilAllah, we are happy about each other. The only thing that stresses me is that we do not have enough sex. MashaAllah he loves me a lot and suggests that we should avoid having sex in order to gain spirituality. But I get sexually aroused when I find him near me. Is there any kind of salt that used to be taken by the armies in order to control sexual desire as Shaykh Hisham once said in his sohbet? Can I take that too and what is the name of this salt?
You are not in the army and there is no “avoiding having sex in order to gain spirituality” in Islam. Quite the contrary, marriage is half the religion and the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) stressed and practiced cohabitation all his life. However, avail yourself of the special lights of Ramadan by increasing your reading of Qur’an and at the same time know that Allah prefers the thankful rich to the remembering pauper. So give your bodies their rights over you and give thanks to Allah for the blessings of life and health.
