How could I invite my family to Islam

Question:

Salam I am a convert living in Damascus. My non-muslim relatives live in Germany. How can I invite them to Islam? (the problem is, that I am not a good example) Please pray for my relatives

And to whom can I give sadaqa? I guess a lot of liars are asking for sadaqa here it’s like a business. Should I give sadaqa only to Syrians who know Syrian society better and who know who really needs sadaqa?
Please pray for me and for my exams

Wassalam

Answer:

Alaykum as-Salam,

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham will pray for you and your relatives.

Regarding inviting others to Islam his instructions are clear and frequent: Do not “invite others”; invite yourself, period. The meaning is similar to the advice given by one of the early masters: “Sit with those whose state addresses you, not their tongue.” Meaning, when you improve, your state will be a living invitation for your relatives; otherwise you are driving them away rather than inviting them.

As for sadaqa, if you have misgivings then entrust it to a trustworthy person for distribution.
