Question:

Can I know whether the fact that Syeda Hajar’s grave is situated near the Kabah is true or not? What is the history behind the Hateem? Which ayat in the Quran mentions about Allah not allowing human beings from passing in between the wall and the Kabah?

Answer:

What you mention was related in the histories and chronicles of Mecca and Qur’anic commentaries and Allah knows best. The Hateem or ‘destruction site’ took its name from the times of renovation of the rectangular Kaaba which used to include the Hijr of Isma’il, with which the Hatim is therefore synonymous. Nowhere is it mentioned that it is not allowed to pass where you said. It is certainly allowed however if circumambulating then that particular circumambulation remains incomplete unless one returns to the point of entry and completes it around the Chamber semi-circle.
