Answer:
Maqrizi was a great historian of Egypt and not an authority in doctrine. He was, moreover, corrupted by the discredited positions of Ahmad b. Taymiyya in doctrine. Thus he is twice disqualified as an authoritative teacher of others in pure Islamic belief and Allah knows best.
