Syed Bukhari lineage related questions

Question:

Salam Alaykoum WrAllah Wb,

Here are the questions related to my previous post:

1. Being a Syed Bukhari family how can they recognize another Syed family ?
2. A Syed Bukhari man, can marry a non-Syed woman, the contrary is not possible?
3. A Syed woman is not allowed to show her face to the men from the family and to those outside the family?
4. If a Syed woman marries a non-Syed, in the Hereafter the husband would be washed with fire. Is it true?
5. Their mother was a non Syed, in fact, none of the women in their family are originally Syed, therefore, how can the lineage be 100% Syed?

I am aware that my questions may lack adab, but it is better to ask rather than being ignorant.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond, may Allah protect you all. JazakAllah!

Wasalam

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Sayyid lineage is known through historically widespread reputation and is usually supported with family trees and other written documents, validated by local genealogists. Among the strongest such family trees are those found in Morocco. A Sayyid woman may marry a non-Sayyid, but it is preferable both spouses be Sayyid. As for showing the face it is the same rule as applies to all women: it is permissible unless it leads to fitna, in which case it is impermissible. There is no difference between Sayyid and non-Sayyid women in that respect. As for the claim that “If a Syed woman marries a non Syed, in the Hereafter the husband would be washed with fire” it is a lie which has very grave consequences because it implies that two of the Khulafa’ ar-Rashidin are in hellfire! As for Sayyid lineage, it is based on fathers and is 100% Sayyid even if all the mothers were non-Sayyid.
