Dream:
Asalaamu Alaikum,
I was in Lefke, on the way to the Dargeh for fajr prayer. I saw a white cat standing at attention as I walked. Then on the driveway to the Dargeh, I saw a large black dog and it struck fear in my heart. I continued forward but it snarled. I turned around and returned to the road but I was upset that I was not going to pray Fajr in jamaah. So I made a second attempt towards the Dargeh and found that the large black dog had followed me and was coming closer. I returned home and prayed there. Was this a dog or something else? Should I have continued towards the dargeh inspite of my fear. This was not a dream.
Interpretation:
`Alaykum as-Salam,
The black dog is a shaytan intent on distracting one from prayer.
Recite three times upon setting out:
Bismillah al-ladhi la yadurru ma`a ismihi shay’un fil-ardi wa-la
fis-sama’i wa-Huwas Sami` al-`Alim
Arm yourself with a good stick and never let anything or anyone deter
you from joining the jama`ah.
