Calling person “hajji”

Question:

A person said that it is bid’ah (unacceptable innovation) to write or call a person who has done hajj a hajji because the Sahabah did not call each other hajji. Is he right? And is it permissible to write hajji before some one’s name?

Answer:

He is not right to say this. It is not bid’ah (unacceptable innovation in religion) to write Hajji or to be called Hajji, rather it is undoubtedly lawful to write it or to say it to anyone who performed Hajj.
