Please interpret my son’s dream

Question:

He said he saw a doctor with a big eyes on forehead and the other eye is tiny on right as a normal person would have the eyes located. This man had stethoscope on him. I’m very scared about this dream, please interpret if this man is danger to my son?

Answer:

Dreams may contain information or nothing, but not danger. The information may be angelic and spiritual, or from the discourse of the self (nafs). If the latter then it might be from an inordinately impressive memory such as a doctor’s visit or something else.

Dua for sister marriage

Question:

Salaams dear Shaykhs,
My sister is unmarried and several proposals have come but they always fail for some reason or the other. It has become very stressful for our parents and her. What zikhr may we recite or action can we take to help her?
Jazak Allah.

Answer:

Waalaykumussalam warahmatullah,
Do not surmise that “they always fail” as you do not know that and it is poor adab with your nurturing Lord. It is better to surmise none of them was the right one and therefore be happy and thankful. Stand in night prayer, make istighfar, give sadaqa, command yourselves to be patient and thankful, ask Allah for His bounty. Recite Al `Imran 3:16-17.

Difficulty to get into nikkah

Question:

My parent are making excuses for over a year to accept the marriage proposal. All they came up with is that he is too short, he has darker skin color. He is still waiting for me i dont want to hurt my parents feeling by doing a silly thing (eloped).

Answer:

Continue with loving patience and mention to them his seriousness and good qualities. In sha Allah they will come around. Buy them a beautiful book and write on the blank cover page a loving dedication to them. You may include one or both of these hadiths if you wish:
The delegation of `Abd al-Qays arrived in Medina from Bahrain. The Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) called them “among the best of the people of the earth.” Their leader was a diminutive man (rajulun damim). The Prophet said to him, “There are two traits in you which Allah loves: forbearance (ḥilm) and equanimity (anāt).” He said: “Is it something that happened over time or was I created thus?” The Prophet said: “No, you were created thus” (Ahmad, Muslim, Abu Dawud).
One day Abu Dharr (may Allah be well-pleased with him) got angry with Bilal (may Allah be well-pleased with him) and said to him: “You son of a black woman!” The Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) heard of it and said to Abu Dharr, “Are you shaming Bilal through his mother? I swear by the One Who revealed the Book to Muhammad, none of you is better than the other except through good deeds. All of you fall short of the full measure” (Ibn al-Mubarak, al-Birr wal-Sila).

Print On Demand Guidance

Question:

Assalamu Alaikum,

I want to know whether Print On Demand Business is permissible. A guidance in designing, arts and crafts without compromising islamic laws. What kind of designs can be used on t-shirts apparels and accessories?

Answer:

Waalaykumussalam warahmatullah,

Any design that does not sin or offend by Islamic criteria is permissible regardless of the platform or medium, and it would be better to apply the question and answer on a more specific case by case basis.

Certains prénoms son t’il permis ?

Question:

Salam aleykoum bien aimé !

Je souhaite savoir si il et permis de donner comme prénom Qiyamah ? Et quand on a un parent qui n’a pas de prénom musulman est-ce que on a le droit de donner leur prénom à notre enfant ?

Answer:

Waalaykoumoussalam warahmatoullah,

I believed in democracy and that Allah can lie

Question:

Assalamu ‘alaykum,

MSN said that it was kufr to deny the shariah and I used to support democracy. Moreover I believed that Allah could lie if he wanted to (disregarding the impossiblity). Do I need to make up my past missed prayers and zakah?

Answer:

Waalaykumussalam warahmatullah,
The first two issues are kufr al-ni`ma (crass ingratitude) and conducive to kufr. The latter two questions in the text are yes and yes.
