May Allah(S.W.T.) continously raise the Maqam of our Mawlana Shaykh Nazim(Q.S.), Shaykh HIsham(Q.S.), Shaykh Adnan(Q.S.), Shaykh Muhammad(Q.S.) and keep all the mureeds of our Mawlana with them as supporters of Imam Al Mahdi(A.S.) and Sayyidna ‘Isa(A.S.). Questions:
1. What is the model (based on catalog on isn1.net) of ring does our Mawlana Shaykh Nazim(Q.S.) and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham(Q.S.) wear? Insha Allah would like to purchase the same model.

2. Mawlana Shaykh HIsham please make dua’ for this weak mureed to complete Hajj this year with you as our guide.
Wasalam

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani is praying for you, but at this time there are no definite plans to do a group Hajj as last year. Both shaykhs wear various styles of rings, including those similar to “Sunnah Ring“.

Seeing Visions

Question:

Salaam,

I’m not sure if this can be interpreted or whether I have other issues. For the last few years, whenever I read namaaz especially maghrib, on my left hand side, I see this thing crying and trying to escape from a prison. It shakes it and tries to get out but it can’t. Then in dua when it tries to come near me it can’t- like something is protecting me and when I finish it’s locked up. I thought I was going crazy so never told anyone.

I began reading a little Quran, 100 drood every day and I give a little sadaqah out of my monthly wage to try to make it stop and it has helped.

Also sometimes I see things like light or blackness around people/on people but when I stop reading or get angry it stops.

Am I crazy? What else should I do?

Answer:

`Alaykum Salam,
Good deeds imprison and control nafs, and spiritual light let’s you see what others do not see. Continue with your efforts, if you have not taken bayaa with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (Allah bless his secret) you may do so, and wear his tawiz.

Dream: Grandsheykh Abdullah (q)

Dream:

Salam aleykum,
GrandSheyk appears in front of me and he gave to me a bright sphere that he took out from his chest. He looks at me and he disappears. Then I saw that I have a sword in my right hand. I feel danger. It was at night. I run through a dark place to a fortress. There were two murids that tell me that they were waiting for me and they put down a bridge. The dream ends.

Interpretation:

`Alaykum Salam,

Sphere is your trust and sword means combating the darkness of ego as well as standing for truth especially in the time of al-Mahdi. Two murids are your group or Mawlana’s representatives in your area, or murids whom Mawlana may have instructed you to support specifically as he often does, and Allah knows best.

Shafii Fiqh of Salat

Question:

Asalaamu Alaykum,

If I may I would like to ask a few brief questions about salaat in the Shafi madhaab. As we have finally chosen the Shafi madhaab to follow, but there are some questions due to confusion as different Shafi people and different Shafi Imaams have been saying/telling different things. And we do not want to just follow what people say we wish to follow the strictest closest way to Imam Shafi as possible. So if you could please answer the few brief questions we would greatly appreciate it.

Q: When touching the opposite sex i know that this breaks ones wudhu.
Must there be sharwah/lust for this to break wudhu or does it break even if accidental (even between husband & wife?

Q: If one does not know the opening supplication before al-Fatiha can one recite the thana …
Subhanaka allahumma wa bi hamdika wa tabara kasmuka wa ta’ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuka.
in replacement until the learn the Allahuma bai`d baynee wa bayna … ?

Q: Although Hanafi do qunut in Witr & Shafi in Fajr…. In the Hanafi Fiqh if one does not know the qunut they can simply recite “Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil ‘akhirati hasanatan waqina ‘adhaban-nar [2:201]” in replace ment of the qunut, or any supplication from Qur’an. Is this acceptable in Shafi fiqh to do this in replacement of the qunut in Fajir salaat until one learns the qunut?

Q: When coming up from ruku one raises the arms (rafa dayan), in Fajr salaat is this done before the qunut or after the qunut or both before and after?

Q: In Shafi Fiqh does the Muqtadi/follower only recite Fatiha and no Surah IN ALL RAKAAT’s or do the still recite Surah? And do they recite the supplication before Fatiha (mentioned above)

Q: In Shafi does one recite the Ta’awwudh before every Fatiha in every rakaat or only in the first before Fatiha?

Q: IN Shafi the basmallah is recite loud before Fatiha, do we also do this before the Surah after the the “Amiin”?

Q: When reciting the tashahdud , when one raise the finger they are to look at the finger. Do we remain looking at the shahadah finger for the remainder of the shahddah until raisin g again to the qiyam position and in final rakaat do we remain looking at the shaddah finger for the slata an-nabi/darud ibrahimi until taslim?

Answer:

`Alaykum salam,

1. In the Shafi`i it is the latter case (it breaks even accidental touch between husband and wife)

2. The bare minimum is A`udhu billah… So the Thana‘ is more than acceptable since it is a sahih riwaya.

3. Minimum of qunut is istighfar, and Rabbana Atina… fulfills that and more but must close with Salawat.

4. When coming up from ruku` one raises the arms (rafa` dayan), in Fajr salaat before the qunut. Then one brings them down by one’s sides as one recites the du`a of I`tidal (rabbana laka/walaka al-hamdu hamdan tayyiban kathiran etc.) Then one raises both hands palms up and recites the dua of qunut. Then one brings them down without wiping face and goes down into sajda.

5. Ta`awwudh is required only once, at the opening of Salat; thereafter it is optional.

6. Basmala outloud yes, if we are reciting a Sura from its beginning; because the Basmala is an integral part of every Sura except Bara`a in the Shafi`i madhhab.

7. Yes, in tashahhud one raises the index finger at the words “ill ‘Llah” and looks at it until the end. Allah knows best.

Halimatul Sa’adiah, RadiAllah Anha

Question:

Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Shaykh,

I pray that you and all your family are in the best state of Iman and health – Ameen.

I have been asked a question which I need help on answering.
A few questions have arisen whilst someone was reading the blessed Seerah of Sayidina Muhammad Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam – Alfu Alfu Salaam:

Halimatul Sa’adiah the wetnurse of Sayidina Muhammad Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam was from the tribe os Sa’ad who were from Najd, is this the Najd that is the land that wasnt prayed for – is this correct?

Also did the tribe of Sa’ad used to oppose the messenger or support him Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam?

Why would someone so blessed be from the land that was prayed for?

The person asking is reading the Seerah written by Hajja Amina RadiAllah Anha, and I am ready to answer with your support to put this brothers thoughts clear (he has good intention and opposes the Najdiyya movement of the Khawarij).

May Allah Azajwajal increase your knowledge and allow people who are jaahil like myself to learn and take benefit from the true scholars of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah like yourself, who clearly spread the true complete Islam and are not afraid to speak out against and warn about those who have corrupt Aqida and spread falsehood.

Answer:

`Alaykum Salam,

The Banu Sa`ad were from Madinah just as the Banu Zuhra were from Madina. Therefore Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) is from Madina from both his mothers: Amina and Halima. Hassan b. Thabit al-Ansari said in his poetry:

“O firstborn of Amina, she gave birth to you and raised you with the
help of Sa`d of the Stars, and so we can say that We (the people of
Madina) have given birth to the best of the Banu Hashim”.

Strange experience with left hand…

Question:

Assalam mualaikum Maulana Shakyh Hisham and e-shakyh,

May Allah bless you for your work and patience with us.

I keep getting involuntarily hand movements ( hand jerks), I remember this first started to happen whilst i was in Syria and sat with Shakyh Adnan, my left hand just kept moving and it scared me. This happened again whilst in Cyprus during zikr , and happens every now and again since, especially during zikr or thinking of Maulana and only in my left hand.

I’m confused, I’m not sure if this is something i am doing subconsciously or whether it may be something medical. The more i think about it the more i feel my ego is playing with me so i thought i would ask to put my mind at rest.

I humbly ask if any light could please be shed on the meaning of the above experiences .

Shukran

Answer:

`Alaykum Salam,
These states may be explained medically, and spiritually they may be reminders pointing you to vigilance. Many people experience them and they sometimes involve the whole body or the voice, such as exclaiming dhikr incongruously. You may address your hand with the words of the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) to the woman who trembled: Ya miskina `alayki bis-sakina.
