Qur’anic Verse about Angels wearing Turbans

Question:

Dear Brothers and Sisters, in one of Scheich Nazims Sohbets (Sohbet 6. April 2011) was spoken that the angels are wearing turbans. The recitation should be in the Holy Quran Sura 3, 125. Now my question: I was searching for this in German translations, English translations and in the Corpus Quran (arabic). But nowhere I found the word “turban” and the recitation from the sohbet was very different from the Aya I read in the Quran. What does this mean? Is there anything I don’t understand correct? Please help me to understand so that I can find more love and peace for Allah! It is very difficult for me and some other Muslims to hear such. Now we hope that we will get an answer from you! May Allah bless you! Waiting with interest for your soon reply I remain with best regards and wa salam

Answer:

The verse states “Your Lord shall help you with five thousand angels bearing marks (musawwamin)” (Surat Ali ‘Imran, 3:125). Ibn ‘Abbas, the greatest of the early exegetes, said: “The signs are that they wore turbans.”

Wife’s apostasy

Question:

As-salamu ‘alaykum,

Regarding the status of a woman’s marriage in the case of her apostasy, the Hanafi school has three opinions: 1. Her marriage contract breaks and she must reconvert and remarry her husband. 2. Her apostasy has no effect on her marriage at all. 3. the woman becomes the slave of her (now ex-)husband. [source: Traditionalist approaches to shari`ah reform: Mawlana Ashraf `Ali Thanawi’s fatwa on women’s right to divorce]

A person said that the last opinion is attributed to Imam Abu Hanifa rahimahullah, whereas the second opinion is attributed to Hanafi scholars of Central Asia. Do these two opinions have any basis in the Qur’an and Sunna and are they properly ascribed to the Ahnaf?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,
There is a difference of opinion among the scholars.
Imams Abu Haneefah and Abu Yoosuf said that the apostasy of one of the spouses annuls the marriage. They are to be separated immediately be it before consummation of marriage or afterwards. This does not count as a divorce but rather separation under special circumstances.

Making up the missed fard prayers

Question:

I thought the missed fard prayers cannot be made up. How do I make up all the fard prayers (32 years from age of ten up to age of 42, or 11,688 days or 58,440 fard prayers) that I missed?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,
Do Tahajjud and after mid-night prayers as much as you can. When you get up at night for voluntary prayers use that opportunity to do the make-up prayers. Ask Allah for forgivness regularly.

Prayer Request: Peaceful Home

Request:

Salam
I have been married three years & living with my in laws from the start, however as time has passed new problems are arising. My in laws don’t like seeing us happy. His parents always make sly comments when we are together, which in turn puts pressure on our marriage. They make comments about me and my family. I am finding it difficult to ignore their comments and have noticed my husband is less supportive of me when I am upset. It would be ideal if we had our own living space so we can bond without interference. My husband always avoids the subject of moving out, so I think he won’t take it well. Please do dua to make it easier and that he himself realizes that it is best for everyone if we have our own space. I feel helpless and stressed that the situation is worsening.
