About Nisab of Zakat

Question:

Assalam u alayekum !
Currently Ulema say that nisab of zakaat is the equavilent of silver price. Will Nisab of zakaat be same for the citizens of different countries as the silver and gold prices vary over different parts of the world or will it be same? (i.e keeping in view the gold and silver prices in the international market) If the latter is true (i.e uniform nisab for all) kindly tell what is Nisab for zakat this year (in accord to silver price in international market)?

Shukran.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Sayyidina Muhammad (s) fixed the nisab of gold and silver which are 87.49 grams of gold or 613.35 of silver. The value of these figures might have been the same at the time of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). The value of both metals change daily in the markets. According to the current values shown below the nisab of gold is $5455.98 and the nisab of silver is $793.69. The scholars consider the nisab whichever is less between gold and silver. At present the nisab of silver is less, therefore whoever has $793.69 (Hanafis $816.85) for a full year is liable to pay zakat. We hope this answers the question.

Dream: Prophet Muhammad SAW in dream

Dream:

i went to arabia to meet Prophet MuhammadSAW but when i reached there i learnt that he has passed away.i became sad hearing this and so i started to return.while returning i saw a body of man who was not alive.suddenly i heard a voice saying “This is Muhammad”…i was shocked and i saw his face.his face was pinkish,he had a broad forehead, and his beard was not long…very few hairs were there…he was looking like his age was in 60’s to 70’s…

the sad thing is i couldnt remember his face perfectly after i woke up :'(
only his facial characteristics i could remember :(

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

It means that the traces of our beloved Holy Prophet (s) can barely be found in his own homeland, due to the unbelief of Wahabism when they assert “he is dead and cannot benefit anyone” and “he is only a man, like other men,” may Allah forgive them and us.

Insha-Allah for seeing the Prophet (s) you will be saved from seven great difficulties in this life and seven tribulations of the Hereafter and enter Paradise, by Allah’s Grace and the Intercession of Sayyidina Muhammad (s).

To see Sayyidina Muhammad’s (s) face clearly, insha-Allah increase your `ibadah and in particular reciting salawat (Allahuma salli `ala Muhammad wa `ala ali Muhammadin wa sallim) and Allah knows best.

Sign of a Munafiq

Question:

As-salaamu `alaykum wr wb,

Beloved Mawlana Shaykh Hisham (q) said in a recent suhbah that the sign of a munafiq is that when he speaks, he lies, so do/believe the opposite of what he says. Just as when dajjal will say, “This is Paradise,” and you have to know that it’s hell.

What if you live with someone like that who is of your own flesh and blood and who carries hatred/jealousy in his heart to that one whom you love so dearly? Does that also mean I have traces of that in me, as I carry the same DNA? Is there a way out Mawlana?

Please forgive me for all my bad actions.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

May Allah swt make you a true believer, far from hypocrisy with the baraka of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani and Shaykh Hisham Kabbani.

Our mashaykh teach one secret of the miswak, is the du`a that accompanies its use, “Allahuma tahhir qalbee min ash-shirki wa ‘n-nifaq, O Allah purify my heart of idolatry and hypocrisy.”

Keep in mind that one of the Prophet’s (s) greatest enemies was his own uncle, Abu Lahab while amongst his most ardent supporters were idolaters who accepted Islam.

Another example: Qabil, son of the prophet Sayyidina Adam (as) killed his brother, Habil, son of the prophet Sayyidina Adam (as).

And Allah said:

And Allah sets forth, as an example to those who believe the wife of Pharaoh: Behold she said: “O my Lord! Build for me, in nearness to Thee, a mansion in the Garden, and save me from Pharaoh and his doings, and save me from those that do wrong” (at-Tahrim, 66:12)

So blood lineage and marriage are not the only factors impacting one’s character, rather sincerity is a secret that Allah bestows on whomsoever He wills.

Confused

Question:

Assalamualaikum. I’ve did an istikhara prayer last year about responding a man. I thought he was into me at that time. After istikhara, I feel like the atmosphere responding positively so I assumed he’s the one for me. But after 6 months knowing each other, I found that he wasn’t that serious and left me then. So much things I’ve been through to make it right based on the night I did the istikhara, but things went wrong. I dreamed that he’s coming back after I decided to leave. I was so confused. Which one should I refer to? The istikhara or the dream? Please enlighten my limited knowledge. Thank you. Salam

Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,

Neither is a good option because the ego will trick you. You should instead consult a person of good moral character.

Dream: To Dr Karim Tourk

Dream:

Assalamoualikoum,
In one dream interpretation under the title playing field, you state that I need to remember death everyday. Actually since the death of my father rahemahoullah i find it difficult to forget death. My life is deeply affected and i am very worried because i start since his death dreaming a lot. The dreams are so log and symbolish. I am really tired. Please do advise me.
Jazakoum Allah khayran

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah no harm will come to you from your increased remembrance of death, only good. Long and symbolic dreams also are awliyaullah taking you through states and stations unattainable in physical life today due to “modern” human beings’ deep involvement into dunya life.

and Allah knows best.

Dream: provision

Dream:

Salamalalaykum and Ramadan mubarak

(Alhamdulillah, we have a property in which we live, and last year we were given another property which gives us rent money and we have been living off this rent money).
Last night I dreamt of Maulana, may Allah bless him, he was small, we sat and he was very small. He said I have been lucky to have been given money so I can have many children, but now it is going to stop.

Please tell me, does this mean the rent from our rental property on which we depend mainly for our sustanance will stop, and therefore we should sell the property? (And perhaps buy land if possible?)
Thankyou

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

Allah is the one who gives sustenance, not the rent. So don’t worry about renting and not renting. Don’t build an assumption on a dream. It means give sadaqa from that rent money and it will continue insha-Allah.

Submission to Shaykh’s will? (second part)

Question:

… impression in this regard. One reads: „In Islam, when the husband obeys the wife, he is a sinner, and if the wife is causing him to listen to her, she also is a sinner. When the husband is obeying the wife, he is disobeying the Lord.“ (Mercy Oceans II, p. 215)

The second one reads: „It is not permitted for a Mu’min to leave his brother in religion and not speak to him for more than three days … if one is leaving him for more than three days, Satan takes you under his control for 40 days.“ (p.192f)

These days, again, communication is broken completely. I don’t know where the wrong lays.

MSH said before we should try to be patient until Hajj with our specific issue (he was referring to sihr). We’re trying to accept, but are asking advice how to maneuver the turbulence.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Taking a quote out of context is surefire way to cause fitna and misunderstanding. Here is the full passage, which is certainly clear and unambiguous:

In Islam marriage is a sacred foundation; it must be kept very carefully. In Islam women have rights and men have rights. Both sides must respect each other’s rights. That is the Lord’s advice to us. A marriage which makes Allah Almighty pleased, is when both keep respect towards each other. Marriage is the foundation and the family is a social building. There must be one head for every building. In Islam, Allah makes the husband the head of the family, and his wife should obey him. A lovely family making the Lord pleased is when the wife obeys the husband. In Islam, when the husband obeys the wife, he is a sinner, and if the wife is causing him to listen to her, she also is a sinner. When the husband is obeying the wife, he is disobeying the Lord. Husbands must use wisdom; women believe easily, their hearts are fine.

A husband, when going to do something, may ask his wife; it does not mean her answer is an order. When she is asked, she may say, ‘As you like.’ That woman makes her Lord pleased with her. If asking, ‘May I go, may I buy, may I do,’ that is the good manner of a lady. A lady; the exact meaning is to be so gentle, especially to husbands. Now they are very polite with strangers, but very hard on their husbands, like a hell-mouth. Subhanallah, she must be more polite to her husband than to anyone, and then Allah makes him an excellent husband for her.
