Dream: Green bag and boots

Dream:

SELAM MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU ALL
I entered a strange place, a bar. I saw a rough man, I was afraid of him. I got away from him. Then I came to a room with men playing football. Then I came to a shop a woman was selling things luxury baby jackets, head scarfs and a lovely dark green handbag. I wanted to buy it. When you buy the bag you get a lovely pair of green boots with it as present. Then I thought how can I pay for this bag. Then I took the boot and big shiny old golden coins came out of the boot. The coins had a picture of a man or woman on them with an old temple behind them. The sun shine over her his head. I put one big coin in my mouth, I tried to hide it.

Interpretation:

`Alaykum Salam,

The dream points to progress from sin to play then marketplace then something old and valuable, which stands for religion. The gold in the mouth is the reading and recitation of Qur’an insha-Allah.

Cemented high graves

Question:

Assalamualaikum Mawlana Shaikh Hisham and the rest of the group..we are all very blessed to have you all helping us learn more.
Shaikh Hisham,
Me and my family are Naqshbandis, and we often go to the shrines of saints for fatiha and request them to pray for us. What I wanted to ask is when people mock us for going there because they say according to Shariah Graves arent meant to be “pakki” (I think that means cemented, I’m not sure) and also are meant to be ground level, than how can you go to such sites and they basically make it sound like how can they be such great saints Astaghfirullah. I wanted a reply to this so if people say this to me again I’m able to explain to them properly. Please help and forgive me for anything I said against adab. There objections dont change my belief.

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) commanded us to visit the graves, end of story.

Did Imam Qurtubi forbid Raqs ?

Question:

assalaamu alaikum,

There are quotes online where Imam Qurtubi in surah al kahf verse 14, surah bani israel verse 37 and surah al anfal verse 35 seems to prohibit raqs. Is it correct to say that the Imam prohibited Raqs ? Or is there a more comprehensive view of his position ?

And how is the verse “Their prayer at the House (of Allah) is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands.” (8:35) understood by those who permit raqs ?

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

On raqs see http://www.seekingilm.com/archives/50 and https://eshaykh.com/sufism/origins-of-the-hadrah/

As for the verse it refers by consensus to the polytheists of Mecca who sought to disturb the praying of the Holy Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) with their childish noise and used to circumambulate naked. (Tafsir al-Tabari)

Qutubs

Question:

Assalamun Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

May we know who the 5 Qutubs are? And please pray for me to be a good Muslim.

Thank You very much

Answer:

`Alaykum Salam,

I only know one, and that is Qutb al-Mutasarrif, Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani as identified verbatim more than once by Sultan al-Awliya’ Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani (may Allah Most High sanctify their secrets). O Allah, teach us what benefits us, and benefit us with what You taught us.

Red in the Quran

Question:

I always open the Quran and this morning I opened it and it had a red mark near a verse, what was that red mark?

Answer:

Some mus-hafs have a system of markings connected with modes of recitation and/or meaning. This system is usually explained at the beginning or the end of the mus-haf. Colored mus-haf are usually those with an elaborate scheme for perfecting correct recitation (tajwid). Ask your Qur’an teacher to explain that particular sign to you.

Pre-eternity

Question:

Assalam Alekum,

I have two questions which are connected to each other.

1)What is the difference between azalijun (pre eternal) and qadimijun (ancient)? It has been said by some scholars that qadimijun is after azalijun, but how could it be after if there is no time in Divinely Presence.

For instance they say the essence of Allah is azalijun and the nuur of Allah is qadimijun, because you first need to have the essence and then after comes the rest connected to the essence.
And if we look at the word Al Gaaliq (the Creator), it is azalijun, does it make the creation also azali, with no beginning, because you need to create first to be a creator?

2) Was there before Laailaha illahlah Muhammadurasululah, only laailaha illah lah, or does laailaha illallah Muhammadurasululah have no beginning?

Thank you!
Wassalam

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

There is no “before” or “after” when describing the Names and Attributes. Azal denotes beginninglessness whereas qidam only denotes antiquity, hence azali is more precise as a word for pre-eternity whereas qidam may or may not denote it depending on context. Hence the texts of doctrine describe Allah not only as being qadim but “qadim bila ibtida’” meaning ancient without beginning, and that is the meaning of azali. Both the Essence and Attributes of Allah Most High are certainly azali and qadim bila ibtida’ in the doctrine of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama`a. On the other hand, “azali is more general than qadim” (Iji, Mawaqif) because the former can be used for the non-existence of contingencies (i`dam al hawadith) whereas the latter can only be used for existent things.

Allah Most High is al-Khaliq from all eternity, independently of creation being or not being in existence. “He was All-Knowing when there was nothing to be known; All-Powerful when there was no object of power; All-Seeing when there was nothing to be seen; All-Sustaining when there was nothing to be sustained; Creator when there was nothing created” (Ibn Khafif, `Aqida).

As for the shahada, it is in the Qur’an and is Divine Speech which, as we just said of all the Attributes, has no beginning.

Mazhab and Prayers

Question:

Salaam Shaykh Hisham,

Firstly, I can ‘t wait to see you. Forgive me if I lack adab in any way as I am naive.

1) I live in a country where majority are Shafi’e Mazhab. However, after marriage I made intention to switch to Hanafi Mazhab as I realise it was very difficult for me to keep my wudhu when my wife touches me. To my understanding, I would still have my wudhu if my wife accidentally touches me in Hanafi Mazhab. I also made the switch because I intend to follow Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. Is it allowed?

2) I have missed fard prayers and I intend to pay back before doing my sunnah prayers. Could you check and tell me how many raka’ats I need to do to complete my obligations as I want to do my Sunnah prayers.

Forgive me if I have phrase my question wrongly. Love you Mawlana.

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

1) It is up to you. However, it is best to follow the same madhhab as your community.
2) You need to check for yourself based on the number of days, weeks, months or years missed.

Dream: Al Jabbar

Dream:

Assalamu alaikum,

Whats the meaning of Al Jabbar? My sister told me in a dream not to worry about al jabbar. I also saw a friend which name is Issa Issa (Name and Prename). The people were very innocent, confused but self confident in that dream.

Interpretation:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

Al-Jabbar means the Invincible, the Irresistible, the Unattainable; the Transcendent All-Compeller; the Constant Repairer, Comforter, and Reformer.

This Name is mentioned once in the Qur’an (59:23) as a Divine Name and, when applied to other than Allah, is invariably a negative trait (5:22, 11:59, 14:15, etc.).

The dream signifies inevitability and reassurance of very near tidings of deliverance for helpless innocent people, i.e. the emergence of al-Mahdi and `Isa, upon them peace, at the end of times and the relief of suffering under which much of the world is heaving, and Allah knows best.

Female slaves

Question:

Assalam u alayekum!
I am not still clear about the concept of female slaves in Islam. Does one have to pay meher to his female slave? Can slaves be bought in reward of money ? Whether this concept is applicable in the present age or not? (I am asking this because some people claim that its been going on like that and even today people from Islamic countries buy female slaves from relatively poor countries i.e Afghanistan, Bangladesh etc and keep relationship with them and they say that it is permissible to do so since they are our slaves now.)
Waiting for your detailed guidance in this regard.
Shukran

Answer:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

In the absence of a lawful sultan who sells or places war captives into slavery there are no slaves. If true, the scenario described is in actuality forced zina (fornication), i.e. rape and – if victims are remunerated – forced prostitution. Our refuge is in Allah from such crimes.
