I feel so agitated at times

Question:

Salaam,

My feelings of restlessness and agitation have not improved much over the years.
Sometimes, it gets worst when I face Allah swt during prayer.

I am most unhappy about the fact that I am not improving spiritually.

Ramadhan Mubarak!
WasSalaam

Answer:

Wa `alaykum salam, Ramadan Kareem,

As Mawlana Shaykh Hisham said, the thief doesn’t steal from a shack, he steals from the palace. The hearts of the believer, especially in prayer, are a palace full of jewels. So keep doing what you’re doing and constantly make istighfar from shaytan’s whispers.

Should I announce to the one whom receives my zakat

Question:

Asalaam alaimkum,
Dear Shaykh Hisham and eShaykh staff:

First of all I hope Shaykh Hisham can make dua for me and for my family. I met Shaykh Hisham many times in dreams and one time physically in Maulana’s derga in Cyprus.

I want to be clear about zakat: if I give zakat to someone it is necessary for me to tell him that it is zakat or not need to tell him and just give him?

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

Zakat is an obligation and the validity of it depends on the intention made by the person who pays it only. The receiver does not have to know what kind of charity he is receiving.

Dream: Giving away money

Dream:

Salaam to all of the eShaykh staff!

I had a dream that either I was giving money out of my pink wallet, or I was letting others take my money out of it (for their own use). I really can’t remember which. I just remember that I wasn’t upset about giving away my money or letting others use it, but I was a little concerned on whether I’d have anything left. I think at the end I had just a small amount left in my wallet for my own use, maybe a $5 bill.

What could this mean? And JazakAllah for your help!

Interpretation:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

Wa alaykum asalam,

This dream can mean that you should have all you need for your earthly survival
then give as you wish for others.

And Allah (jj) knows best.

Dream: Flower dream

Dream:

Assalaamualaikum,

My mom has seen this dream: she is taking a tray full of rose petals and Arabian Jasmine for someone on some occasion, but she doesn’t know for whom she is doing so. She was sure she was doing for some one she knows and she didn’t even know what is the exact occasion.

Interpretation:

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Walaikum-us-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Masha Allah Very blessed dream. Insha Allah this means that your mom will develop spiritually where she will rise above worldly joys (temporary in nature, short lived) of this life represented by rose petals on a tray. She is transitioning to a stage of life where she will be under the guidance of a holy person (a scholarly person with great piety and sainthood) who will speak in the blessed Arabic language.

Dream: Dead father back alive

Dream:

AssalamuAlaikum,

My father had passed away 7-8 months ago and I saw him in my dream after dhuhr. I knew he was dead in my dream but somehow he was back alive, and he seemed to be happy. He said his sickness is cured from a new technique and he is healthy now and he seemed that he was going to quit smoking.

Thank you.

Use of Kefir

Question:

Assalmu Alikum,

I have been doing lots of research on Kefir, which is a mixture of lacto bacteria as well as yeasts in a polysaccharide base. It is full of beneficial micro-flora and has been used for hundreds of years – anecdotally it seems to have started with the Muslim in the Caucasus region.

My question is may we use this lacto-fermented food as with the Lactobacillus is also created a minute portion of alcohol. This seems to be much less than 1% and some accounts say as low as 0.02% to 0.08%. May we use this product as some reports say just that the alcohol is significantly less than 1% and I am so keen to use it but worried about this aspect?

Many thanks and salams to you all and Sheikh Effendi and his family.

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

When the alcohol is mixed with other substance so it is irrelevant (up to 0.5%) then it has become substance under the rules of either istihlak or istihala (transformation).
