Mark of Ali (ra)

Question:

Assalamu Alaikum,

We come from the family of Prophet(saw), and not many people know this. However, one day a brother from the dargah came up to me and asked me directly if I am a Sayyid, I said how did you know, he replied that because on my forehead was the mark of Ali (ra). I asked him more about this mark as I never heard of it before, but he didn’t much about it. could someone elaborate on this, I never heard of this thing before. Thank you.

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

In al-Ibriz (which was translated into English recently) it is mentioned that when the Awliya drank in the light of the Prophet (upon him and his Family blessings and peace) on the Day of Promises, the biggest share went to the Family of the Prophet.

Dream: Fire Balls Coming

Dream:

Assalamu ‘Alaikkum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakaathuhu,
I was suffering from severe waswas, which caused me some difficulties to contact to Allah(SWT). When I try to-think and fear-about Allah(SWT), something is blocking it and I felt like there is a barrier in between us.

Dream: When I was standing in mosque near the well (where I keep my footwear). I saw sky is very blue fire balls are flying and coming towards me, however they are flying and I as holding a cardboard (adjacent to my face) to get protection against it. I also felt about Qiyaamat day in this dream.

Now my iman is very low due to this waswas. Please make Du’a for me to increase my iman and get rid of waswas.
Thank You.

Interpretation:

Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm

Wa alaikum Salaam wa Rahmatullahi Wa barakatuh,

Continue to recite Audhubillahiminashaytanirajeem BismillahirRahmanirRahim, and also
meditate on the deeper meaning and reality of Allah’s light reaching to you and burning away Shayateen from your heart and mind.

As the verse in Surah al Mulk 67:5

And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.

Such is the meaning in your dream of lamps coming to take away the darkness of nafs and shaytan.

Wallahu Alam,

Ya Muhammad

Question:

Asalamualykum Shakyh GF Haddad

I’ve come across some of the ‘Ya Muhammad’ articles in the internet. The tashud refutes whatever bad is being said about the phrase. However, some are now saying why is the Ya Muhammad phrase permissible when the Ashari s and Habibi ali Jifri doesn’t permit, saying ‘Allah moved the rock’ cave story.

Can you please bring some light into this issue?

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

‘Allah moved the rock’ cave story is a hadith of the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) so it goes without saying that all Ahl al-Sunna including Asharis and Habib Ali Jafri stand by it and none of them says it is impermissible. Check your information.

Dream: Spiritual training under MSN

Dream:

Salaam,

I had a dream where I saw several cat feces behind my house with flies on them, then my mum walked and then my aunt with the same clothes on as my mum. Then I was with Shaykh Nazim doing spiritual training, in front of me were two blood related brothers who I met during Hajj last year. Stage 2 of the spiritual training was that we had to break the number zero with our minds. Then I saw all these random numbers flash in my dream and then number 0 which I was trying to break with my mind and then I woke up and felt something move in my heart.

In another dream, I saw Shaykh Yaqoubi who put his hands in the river and said this water is shifa. So I started wiping the water on me and my friend started bathing. I think the river was in Medina.

Interpretation:

Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm

Wa `alaykumu s-salāmu wa rahmatu l-lāhi wa barakātuh

It is a true dream meaning that Mawlana Shaykh Nazim is guiding you and perfecting you until you will reach your heavenly destination. Breaking the zero means that you need kill your ego to have no more existence like a drop in the ocean.

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham explained in Classical Islam:

The main difference between the Naqshbandi Way and others is that while they are giving, we are taking away. Everything must go, even your separate existence. First you will be without anything, then you will be nothing. Only those who are prepared to take such a step can be real Naqshbandi murids. As long as a drop is falling from the heavens, it may be called a drop. When it falls into the ocean, it is no longer a drop, it is the ocean.

And Allah knows best.

Do I start my studies again?

Question:

Assalam-o-alaikum wa rehmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

I want to ask if it is fine to start my studies again? Actually I was doing my Masters in Zoology in but thinking that time could be utilized in doing ibadah of ALLAH (swt). I stopped my studies! Now my relatives and family members are forcing me to complete my studies for they think educated man will not marry a girl with incomplete education!

Please tell me that ALLAH (swt) will not get angry with me if I study just for the sake of getting degree! JazakALLAH khairan.

Answer:

Alaikum salam Wa rahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

‘Seek knowledge even if you have to travel to China’ – Prophetic Hadith. Finish your degree it will never stop you from doing ibadah. Seeking knowledge is ibadah, Making your family happy is ibadah. “Work for your worldly needs as if you were to live forever and do ibadah as if you were to die tomorrow” – another Prophetic Hadith. So make a balance in your life.

Idrisi Tahlil

Question:

The following is the Idrisi Tahlil. According to publications in the internet, the tahlil reads as follows:

لاَاِلَهَ اِلاّ اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ فِي كُلِّ لَمْحَةٍ وَنَفَسٍ عَدَدَمَا وَسِعَهُ عِلْمُ اللهِ

I have a doubt about one word in the above tahlil. The word is نَفَسٍ

To my understanding it should be NAFSIN, not NAFASIN. I understand that the error might have been introduced while typing. I searched for such a word as given in the above tahlil; but my wider understanding is that it should be “nafsin”. Could you please comment and correct.

Was salam

Answer:

“Fi kulli lamhatin wa nafasin” means “in every glimpse of the eye and every breath”. To replace nafasin with nafsin would make it mean “in every glimpse of the eye and every soul” which, while still acceptable, removes the stylistic correspondence between the two senses (sight and breath) and does away with the figure of thought that conveys innumerability, as glimpses and breaths are virtually countless.

Transmission-wise we only know it as NAFASIN since this is how we received it:

1. From Sayyid Ahmad b. Idris b. Muhammad al-Sharif al-Idrisi, from his father, from King Idris al-Sanusi, from his father Muhammad al-Mahdi, from his father the Hafiz Muhammad b. `Ali al-Sanusi, from Imam Ahmad b. Idris, from Abu Muhammad `Abd al-Wahhab al-Tazi (1099-1206) (Allah sanctify their souls) who said:

2. With the same chain but stopping at Imam Ahmad b. Idris, the following is related from him and is known as the Salat al-`Azimiyya and again the correct expression here is NAFASIN:

3. From Sayyid Yusuf b. Sayyid Hashim al-Rifa`i, from Sayyid Muhammad Makki al-Kattani, from Sayyid Ibrahim al-Rawi (1276-1365), as he recorded it in his book al-Sayr wal-Masa`i fi Akhbar al-Sayyid al-Ghawth al-Rifa`i, as that Salat is also narrated from Sayyid Ahmad al-Rifa`i (Allah sanctify his soul).

4. From Shaykh Munir al-hayik al-Himsi, from the Muhaddith Shaykh Ahmad b. Ahmad Ka`ka al-Himsi al-Naqshbandi (d. 1998CE) who used to teach hadith in the Nuri great mosque of Hims and would recite:

And Allah knows best.

Dream: Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

Dream:

Asalamualykum Sheik,

I dreamt that I saw the face of Shaykh Kabbani. I am asking in my dream “Who is this?” “Is this Badsha Peer Bawa.” Nobody answered me. Only when I took baya with Shaykh Nazim and saw photos of Shaykh Hisham Kabani did I discover that I saw Shaykh Kabbani in my dream. In another dream I also dreamt Shaykh Hisham Kabbani throwing a ball to me. What does this dream mean?

JazakAllah

It means that Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani is guiding you to the presence of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and Prophet (ṣall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam).

Prophet (SAW) with a stick

Question:

A few days back, I saw a dream where I was near Prophet Muhammad (SAW). He was dressed in white clothes, turban. He had a stick in his hand. I saw that he was following Allah’s command to move to a place where Allah enriched the land with water. I woke up suddenly after that. It was around Fajr time. I smelled the air around me full of musk, very refreshing. I thought it might be coming from me. Then I offered Fajr namaz. I slept. I had no knowledge that our Prophet (SAW) used to carry stick with him. I looked up online and he did.

I have no interpretation of this dream, but I kept thinking about it with amazement.

Answer:

Allahu akbar! That is a wonderful dream, mabruk, for the Prophet (s)
said “who saw me in a dream in fact saw me for shaytan cannot imitate
my appearance.” and our Shaykhs teach that if you see Sayyidina
Muhammad (s) in the dream you will insha-Allah be saved by his
intercession in seven great difficulties in this life and the seven
great trials of the hereafter. This dream, especially seeing the
Prophet (s) with his staff, indicate to you to implement the Sunnah of
the Prophet (s) as much as possible in this life and you will be
granted spiritual power to accomplish miracles, insha-Allah.

Dream: Being welcomed by an Imam and group of Muslim women

Dream:

Salaam,

I dreamt that I had just finished college and made my way to a mosque. Here I was greeted by a tall slim male with a beard; he appeared to be the Imam. He took me into the mosque where I was introduced to a large group of Muslim women dressed in white jilbabs and black head scarves. It was like an initiation was taking place, I began asking questions e.g. ‘can I do this or that?’ ‘is this jewelry or clothing appropriate?’ etc. Then the Imam and group of women smiled at me and welcomed me in.

Interpretation:

Wa `alaykum salam,

You have graduated spiritual “college” and will soon be joining an
Islamic spiritual path (tariqah) to get your “advanced degree” and
Allah knows best.
