Dear shaykh.
I am addicted to mastrubation and porn and it has lead me to hypocrisy. I dont want this wrong path please pray for me.
Answer:
wa `alaykum salam,
Repent sincerely with true regret (tawbatan nasooha). This is best done by going to your Shaykh, keeping in mind your sin, and kissing his hand, and paying a sadaqa in his hand and asking him to pray for you, without mentioning your sin aloud. This is as the Sahaba used to be with Sayyidina Rasoolullah (s), as Allah swt said:
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآؤُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُواْ اللّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُواْ اللّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا
We sent not an apostle, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah’s forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:64)
and the ayah, in the Surah of Repentance:
خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ صَلاَتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَّهُمْ وَاللّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Of their goods, take alms, that so thou might purify and sanctify them; and pray on their behalf. Verily thy prayers are a source of security for them: And Allah is One Who hears and knows. (Surat at-Tawba, 9:103)
Continue to repent through your Shaykh’s intermediation (wasilah) to the Prophet (s) until you feel that darkness lift, and you stop the sinful action, even if it means repenting all your life.
