Focus during prayers

Question:

Assalamualaikum Sayidi

When making intention and entering prayers, during takbiratul ihram, I have difficulty focusing and I often have all sorts of random images pop up in my mind, some inappropriate ones. In order to overcome this, I sometimes try to imagine Shaykh Nazim or Shaykh Hisham as my imam. I know that we cannot visualize Allah swt at all, how to maintain focus during prayers and what is good for me to focus on to combat the random images?

Thank you and wasalam

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Shaykh Hisham has taught us that best way to pray is to visualize yourself before the Holy Ka`aba, following Mawlana Shaykh as your imam.
