Help with evil thoughts

Question:

bismillahirahmanirahim

assalamualaikum,

I need help! I have had some problems with evil and rebellious thoughts. It doesn’t come often but comes on a regular basis. I try to become a better servant . But i know that Shaytan is troubling me and my own nafs..yesterday i felt so heedless and just “spritually exhausted” and i don’t know i just got so angry at myself and i became irritable on my family due to reasons, and got lack of adab. I also started to become ungrateful to Allah for being heedless, started asking him why this and that ?!?! I also started to think that i should leave worship and start doing bad stuff again ?!?! i am really scared of myself and i really need some advice. I was on hajj this year, and now i feel that i am ruining my Hajj!

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani is praying for you.

These are actually the signs you are on the right path, and Shaytan is worried you will escape his clutches. For that reason, he is doing full court press to get you back.  When these kind of attacks occur, renew wudu as often as necessary until it stops, while reciting istighfar for each evil whisper, and then, per Mawlana Shaykh Hisham’s instructions “do not follow the evil thought.” Use the new power granted to you during hajj to defeat Shaytan and his supporters, by reciting “raghman li ‘sh-shaytan, ridan li ‘r-rahman“, keeping in mind the stoning of the Jamarat during hajj.

In actualiy your murshid is cleaning the “hard drive” of your heart of all the evil that was engraved onto it during your life, and the hajj was one of the means to initiate the cleansing process. and Allah knows best.
