“lots of salawat”

Question:

Salam,

You said their is no such thing as “lots” of salawat because Allah Ta’ala Himself does it. If I recite salawat once, surely that is not as good as reciting it 1000x times. So with this in mind, what is considered “a lot” such that a Wali would do?

Answer:

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani has informed us that some Awliya may do up to 24,000 Salawat per day during khalwah, where each breath is one salawat. That is at the limits of physical understanding. As to what limits there are in the spiritual dimensions, we have no conception. Shaykh Hisham said in a suhbat dated 18 January 2013, “but for awliyaullah it is different, it is difficult; their salawaat is so complicated, so condensed of materials, so condensed of Light that we cannot (compare). ”
