Salam alaikum,
Like all Muslims I love the Sahaba very much but I’m especially attracted to Umar (ra) and Ali (ra).
I’ve been lucky to have seen the Prophet (Saws) on a few occasions, He told me I was from the line of Ali (ra). I have only seen Ali once (with the Prophet and Umar). I feel familiar with Umar, I’ve seen him a few times, I can picture his blessed face. He is very stern and striking. I was told in a dream once that I would follow a similar spiritual path, I can’t really explain it.
I love Umar and Ali deeply, yet I feel far from Ali. If I never see a good dream again I’d have no right to complain as I’ve been so lucky, but is my link with Ali (ra) only blood? How can I get closer to him?

Having the blood link to Sayyidina `Ali (r) means you have a spiritual link as well. Work on it by reciting salawat a lot.
