Question

Question:

Assalaamualaykum ya Sayyidi,

Forgive me for my lack adab.

Regarding asking question, is it true that asking question is bad adab?

Many times I asked in my heart to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim about my problems. But inside of me, I feel that Maulana doesn’t have to be burden to my problems. He has many other big problems to be solved than my problems. In the other hand, I am only a weak person, Ineed guidance & don’t know where to look for it except to my Shaykh.

Forgive me ya Sayyidi, may Allah blessed you all in this Ramadhan.

Please pray for me, for I am only giving more burden to Mawlana and all of the Shuyukh. I feel day by day I am getting worst, not getting better in front of Allah.

Wassalaamualaykum

Answer:

Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:

Wa `alaykumu s-salāmu wa rahmatu l-lāhi wa barakātuh,

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani explained in his book, The Dome of Provisions (part 1) that:

Awliya’ullah don’t like followers to ask questions, especially in matters of knowledge. They open for you what you can take and not more. The mind always likes to take more but the heart is not ready.

Mawlana explained also that is better to ask the Shaykh to pray for us instead of explaining all yours problems as he already knows.

So as you said, there is no questions in Tariqa but on the other hand, we have to believe firmly that we are in need of our Shaykh guidance and help in all matters, dunya and Akhira.

And Allah knows best.
