As Salaam Alaykum!
Mawlana Shaykh Nazim adviced a brother to use red (red turban, red head cover with green turban etc), saying that this is the color of african regiments which will help Imam Mahdi as.; the brother is of african background. This can be seen in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWN8mKNojJ8 or by seeking in Youtube “red turban”. So, my questions are: 1. is the using of red turbans (and green turban with red cap) permissible for all in Islam and for all us Mawlana’s muridin (Rasulullah s. used it, Mawlana also uses it) or only for Africa people? 2. And also what is the symbol of the red turban and its relation with Africa people? 3. Which represent the diferent colors of turban that our brothers use? Are there different meanings or we can use as we like?
I thank you in advance for the reply,
Murid
Answer:
Wa `alaykum salam,
Please take notice of this previous post by Shaykh Abdul Haqq: I can remember Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (Allah ta`ala raises him higher and higher in His Divine Presence, and the Presence of Prophet (peace be upon him), working in his garden, pruning the flowers and whispering under his holy breath, just loud enough for me to hear, “If the murid should be teacher to his Shaykh, how it will be?”
