Women washing hair during ghusl at night (hanafi)

Question:

Salaam

Is it fardh for a woman to wash her hair properly during ghusl? I have hair approx to my shoulders and ask this question because after being intimate with the husband one may need ghusl a few times during the day & night. It obviously takes a while for the hair to dry and using a hairdryer at night would wake up the whole family. What would be sufficient according to Hanafi madhab?

JazakAllah Khair

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

In Hanafi Madhhab it is not necessary for a woman to undo her hair plait if the skin under her hair can be washed. In other words, if the skin under her plaited hair gets moistened, it suffices to wet the exterior surface of the plait without undoing it. But if the skin under the hair cannot be washed, it becomes necessary to undo the plait.

It is necessary to wash all parts of the hair that is not plaited each time one takes ghusl.<
