Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem
Lottery is gambling, and gambling is haram, and anything haram is harmful and brings sin. Any form of “contribution” from gambling will never have any blessing or acceptance as Allah says in Qur’an:
{They ask you concerning wine and gambling. Say: ‘In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit.’} (Al-Baqarah 2:219)
{O you who believe, truly intoxicants and gambling and divination by arrows are an abomination of Satan’s doing; avoid them in order that you may be successful. Assuredly Satan desires to sow enmity and hatred among you by means of intoxicants and gambling, and to hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Will you not then desist?”}(Al-Ma’idah 5:93-94)
What you should do to help yourself, your family, and your Muslim friends is by giving sadaqah/charity from Halal means. Then will your assistance be rewarded and be beneficial to those who receive them. You will each taste the blessings due to the Halal source of the assistance.
Abu Hurairah (r) reported Allah’s Messenger (s) as saying: “Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth; and the servant who forgives, Allah adds to his respect; and the one who shows humility, Allah elevates him in the estimation (of the people).” (Muslim)
