Salam Aleikum wa Ruhmatullah wa Barakatu. I am just starting to investigate tasawwuf, I know it’s not up to me to choose a teacher or a tariqa, but up to Allah(swt) and in his hands. I’m living in Oregon, and there’s not a sufi community here, and although there’s a masjid in town, i haven’t been there yet, mostly because i’m nervous that if i do go, i won’t find the strength and guidance i need, and then i’ll be more lost. Please, pray for me to find a good, honest, righteous teacher and guide, so that i may grow in my faith and not be ruled by my ego, by anger or pain.
