Question:
As-Salaamu Alaikum,
I had a question for Mawlana Shaykh Hisham or Shaykh Jibreel Al-Haddad.
I was wondering if we will have to relive another life (lives) like this one with a flesh and body after this life is over?
Another question I had was if Allah s.w.t. gives us jannah and ascension, is there a trade-off by living another life?
Thank you,
was-salaam
Answer:
`Alaykum as-Salam,
The answer is no to both questions, as there is no such thing in Islam as reincarnation or transmigration of souls. The full scope of each soul’s journey in this world is its one individual lifespan from birth to death, with no accountability whatsoever for what comes before or after that lifespan. Also, there is no comparison between this life and the next except in name. Allah Most High said:
