What is the Ahle-sunnah view/ruling regarding the “dua nudba“?
May Allah honour and help us with the Presence of Sayyidina Imam Mahdi (Alaihis Salaam) and his Khalifas.

Answer:
`Alaykum as-Salam,
Its chain back to Sayyidina Ja`far as-Sadiq is spurious and its content questionable since it consists mostly in claiming a Prophetic stipulation of khilafa for our liegelord Ali (Allah ennoble his face) exclusively of the other rightly-guided caliphs, and a rank higher than that of Prophets (upon them peace). Our liegelord `Ali said: “The Messenger of Allah (upon him blessings and peace) told me: ‘There is in you a similarity to `Isa (upon him peace): the Jews hated him to the point that they defamed his mother, and the Christians loved him to the point that they gave him the rank which is not his.'” Then `Ali said: “Two types of people shall perish concerning me: a hater who forges lies about me, and a lover who over-praises me.” (Musnad Ahmad, Mustadrak
