Question:
salam shaykh… this question is regarding my personal growth… i am sure this problem is faced by many teenagers as well… ok … sometimes when I see my classmates or other students progress greater than me I get this inferiority complex… I am not in any way a bad wisher of any one… I also get good percentage but am not amongst the toppers… i m doing good in my life but when I see people in better colleges than mine i get frustrated and depressed… what should i do… should i start working hard to achieve their level or should i be content and happy with what Allah has given me.. my friend says i should be content Allah has given me enough and i should rather concentrate on living a life to please Allah… not think about these pity things… jazakAllah

Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem
wa `alaykum salam,
In a previous post Mawlana Shaykh Hisham said, “Work hard, make money and help the poor, as the Prophet (s) said, ‘a thankful rich servant is better than a poor servant who worships.’”
