Are video games where the character himself, in the story, claims to be a “god” prohibited? Players can think of him as “strong character” instead of “god”. What about worship of an idol in game for power-ups, not only viewing it?

Video games are not forbidden as long as the games doesn’t contain sexual themes, excessive violence, blasphemous ideas, and other haram things.
