Giving Sadaqa on the name of beloved Muhammad (SAW)

Question:

As-Salāmu `Alaykum ya sayadi ya murshidi.
Please forgive me for my bad deeds and pray so I could be with people of enlighten faces here and hereafter. I have been thinking to ask this question to clarify my act which is purely due to adab towards Rasul-Allah (P.B.U.H). I have been giving sadaqa on the name of Muhammad (P.B.U.H) on each Friday in last one year. I have gone through many difficulties including losing job and away from my family for few months. Due to these issues, I analyzed my deeds and tried to correct lackings. I thought to clarify giving sadaqa just to know if this is fine, or if there is a better way of doing it. I am confused because I am worried that any of such act don’t come under bad adab. As always, I am thankful for everything that Mawlana has brought to my life.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Prophet Muhammad (saws) said:”Give sadaqah without delay for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Tirmidhi #1887)

And,”Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.” (Tirmidhi #2541)

Continue your practice.
