Permissibility of Nikkah Over Webcam

Question:

Asalamu alaykum Wr. Wb.,

My Shaykh, my fiancee who is a revert and I wish to perform Nikkah asap. I can’t visit her personally, and she told me an Imam had told her that Nikkah over a webcam is valid. If what the Iman has told her is in keeping with Shariah then kindly guide me on what protocols should I follow to make sure our Nikkah( over the webcam ) is in agreement with Shariah and receives Allah’s and our Prophet Muhammad (S)’s blessings.

Keep us both in your prayer,
JazakAllah Khayran

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

One of the conditions for a valid Nikah is that both parties have to be physically present (Ittihadu-l-Majlis). Performing Nikah over webcome is missing this shart (condition). However, one of the two parties (husband or bride) may appoint someone in the other person’s location to be their wakeel (representative) to make acceptance or offer on behalf of the person who is not physically present. Nikah performed in this manner will be valid. In Sha Allahu Ta’ala.

Who is the problem?

Question:

Assalamu’alaikum, ya sheikhs!
I have been married for 21 years. My husband is fond at looking at other women but since the last few years it has been getting worse. I always tell him to stop it but he does not admit it and calls me crazy. He even does not care that I am standing next to him. Going out with him is difficult; many women here wear revealing clothes. I am Hijabi, slim and beautiful, and both of us do our daily prayers and tasbih diligently. My husband is also able to give religious advice to others as he is knowledgeable. Every time I accuse him of staring at another woman, we get angry at each other and don’t talk to each other for 1-2 days. Am I in the wrong? What can I do about this? Should I ignore his behavior which I find insulting to me? JazakAllahkhair!

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,
Rather than getting angry at his lack of self-control try to find halal ways of sating his appetites.

Dream: With the King

Dream:

I and a brother of tariqa standing uncomfortably on our toes on the rear of a royal horse carriage, as body guards of the Spanish crown prince and his wife. As we halt at a royal hall, we pose by the carriages door in reverence, and surprisingly it’s the king and queen that get out of the luxuriously carved golden coloured wooden carriage. He turns around towards us and greets friendly and this servant replies in the old fashioned Spanish way “at God’s service and yours”. Then his majesty comes to this servant, shakes hands and says “that’s the way I like it!”

Interpretation:

Bismil’lahi’r’Rahmani’r’Raheem:

This dream can mean that Allah (swt) represented here by the King is happy with you following the tariqa. Keep up the good work.

And Allah knows best.

Hair Chemicals and Unnatural Dyes

Question:

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

How are you?
May Allah and His Rasool’s love reign on your heart till last breath.

I have asked many Ulemas about whether hair coloring(using chemical products-L’oreal, and other brand names.) Are they permissible(halaal) or not permissible(haraam)? I am from Mauritius and here we have only natural dye (henna-mehendi from tree) and chemical/unnatural products available.I would like to know if using unnatural hair color is permissible or not in the context i put forward above. I am asking this question because maybe abroad apart from mehendi there is/are another way(s) to dye one’s hair using natural products.

Can you please give me a detailed explanation if we can use unnatural products mentioned above or it’s disallowed. I would really appreciate a detailed reply rather than a straight forward answer.

Jazakallahukhair.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

It is only haram to change the hair color to black. The basic principal is that it is permissible unless done in the manner nonbelievers, or immoral women do.

Murid has Various Questions

Question:

Asalam!
I’m mureed of Shayk Gibril Fouad Haddad when he came to Mauritius lately and he came at Riviere Citron Mosque for Jummah, Alhamdulillah! He hold my hand and i repeated what he said (1) How can I achieve his faiz? (2) I took baya`at first from [private] via internet, is it acceptable? In fact, I’m a mureed to whom? (3) I get angry over petty things and i lost control of me often and I squeeze my teeth … My wife`s scared & terrified, what can do? Jazakallah

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,
Gibril has no murids, he himself is a helpless murid such as yourself and in worse need than you. Therefore please realize the basic fact that there is no Shaykh in this entire Tariqa except Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and his Khalifa Mawlana Shaykh Hisham and his brother and brother-in-law. Shaykh Hisham himself has said on countless occasions that (i) Bay`a is to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and no other; and (ii) Rabita is to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and no other. Regarding anger recite Ya Haleem before Fajr x100 daily, and control what you watch (TV, internet…) and be kind to your wife as in Islam marriage is religion, so goodness in marriage is goodness in religion.
