English Quran Translation

Question:

AssalaamAlaikum

Would you please recommend some English Quran translations. There are many out there which are very divisive ie from different groups/opinions.

I understand that nothing can replace the Arabic Quran – however being non arab speaker is it better – more rewarding to read Quran just parrot fashion in Arabic or to understand learn and implement it ie a translation

and would reading translation suffice for reading one Juz a day. I can read the Arabic in urdu style but with no understanding.

Jazaak Allah

Answer:

Alaykum salam,
Point is not to read one juz‘ a day or understand the language. Hasan Basri ra said most qaris are missing Divine approval. Point is to reflect with longing and love on one word or Aya, one meaning of Qur’an at a time and let it change your life. To do this you need suhba and “be with the truthful” – with means suhba, there is no way around that Divine order. At that time in sha Allah the meanings of Qur’an will be more visible to you through the words of Awliya.

Awrad in english

Question:

Assalaamualaikum,

May Allah bless RasoolAllah, Shaykh Nazim, Shaykh Hisham and all the eshaykh staff and grant them long life, good health and peace.

Is it possible to recite the daily award in english?

JazakAllah

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

It is not recommended to recite the awrad in English, as the baraka, blessings, and nur, light, are in the original Arabic words.  However to understand what you are reciting, it is recommended to read the translation, as understanding is important.

Then will it be effective or will it work?

Prayer Request: To lift mother from depression

Request:

Assalamualaikum Shaykh,
I have written in before, to ask for a prayer request for my mother. Her physical disability is increasing, and often she goes into depression. I understand that the disability may be caused by black magic. Please forgive my lack of adab, I would, if possible, like to request for a prayer to remove her afflictions, whether they are natural or supernatural, and to lift her depression. I would also like to ask whether there is any zikir I can read to lift this feeling of helplessness from myself, as I have tried to help her get out of her depression but she is not open to anything I have to say. Thank you.

Response:

Alaykum salam,
Mawlana is praying for you and your mother. Just use tender care with a few filial words but with Fatiha and Salawat in your heart such as Salat Tibbiyya or Tunjiyya or a simpler form. Give sadaqa to the dispossessed and surrender the matter to Allah.

Dream: Roza-e-Rasul (P.B.U.H)

Dream:

Asalam-alikum
I have had a connection to Prophet Muhammad since birth, I was named by Prophet Muhammad through a dream to my mother, he named me [private]. Its been 21 yrs frm then and I myself have seen Prophet few times and I have experienced a lot of spiritual activities in my life. I recently dreamt of crying in front of the Roza-e-Rasul thinking how he must be saddened by all my sins, how he named me and I have done so much wrong in my life! Whenever i get better in my ibadat soon it all crumbles because I sin and I am literally destroyed mentally, spiritually and emotionally! what should I do sir? am truly lost, I get confused with things I receive sometimes through dreams and such

Interpretation:

Alaykum salam,
Just make istighfar and keep your connection strong. Sin is our condition but through constancy in repentance the rahma of Prophet upon him peace shows and is inconquerable. Therefore give thanks and keep on istiqamah.
