Intention for fast

Question:

Assalam u alayekum !
I was reading this post :
http://spa.qibla.com/issue_view.asp?HD=3&ID=16124&CATE=246
and with regards to this post I want to ask that what if a person doesn’t make a verbal intention for fast neither does he recall it in his mind (conscious) but the purpose of taking pre-dawn meal in his “sub-conscious” is to fast from dawn to sunset (otherwise he would not had awaken himself to take meal in pre-dawn time), will his fast be valid?
shukran.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

The fast is valid and the verbalization of intention is desirable but not indispensable. Deliberately awakening oneself from sleep is consciousness by definition. All schools agree that the seat of intention is the heart, while the tongue only acts as its witness. Use it next time.

Dream: big whale

Dream:

salaam,

My brother had a dream he saw a big whale locked up and assumed it was his and he was happy in his dream what does this mean?

thanks

Interpretation:

wa ‘alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah it means new and big source of provision coming to him, but something is locking that up. Let him audit his behavior and eliminate any wrong actions that might be an obstacle, and do 300x istighfar daily for what sins he has done in the day and night.

And Allah knows best,

About khula nama

Question:

mujhe bataye ki agar biwi khula shohar se khula leti hai aur firse uska shohar usse bulata hai aur wo dono hi razi hai milne k liye to kya aisa ho sakta hai aur sirf paper par hi sign hui hai aur us waqt biwi ka hamal bhi zaaya ho gaya tha.meri friend k liye ye sawaal hai.allah k waastey mujhe iska hal bataye jitne jald ho sakta hai.aap mujhe email kariye.me intezar karugi.zajakallah.

Translation:

Please tell me, if a wife took Khula (took divorce from husband) and now her husband is willing to accept her again. If both parties are agreeing, can the wife go back to husband.
Only paper work for khula is completed (they only signed the paper) and the time of Khula, wife had a natural abortion. This question is for my friend, please for the sake of Allah tell me the solution of this issue in your earliest. I will wait for your email.
Thanks

Answer:

Khula` is a finalized cancellation of the marriage agreement, differing from a threefold divorce by the fact that they may remarry in such a case without her marrying another husband first. So the wife can go straight back to the husband, but they need a new marriage contract.

Using inhaler while fasting

Question:

Asalaam Alaikum.

I have read so many fatwas for and against using asthma spray while fasting.
Does using an asthma inhaler invalidate the fast and why can’t our ulama agree on such a simple question without saying there is a difference of opinion.
Jazakallah Khair

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

We addressed the specific bronchodilator issue two Ramadans ago and it was posted here:

Inhaled bronchodilator medic. breaks the fast

As for “Why can’t our ulema agree on such a simple question without saying there is a difference of opinion”, the Companions themselves differed over simple Prophetic statements in the lifetime of the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) and he himself did not gainsay one interpretation for another, thus teaching us that the reality of human differences does not affect piety or right worship when intention is correct. Therefore in non-decisive matters some scholars and non-scholars prefer strictness and erring on the side of precaution for peace of mind; while others prefer ease because the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) encouraged it. And Allah knows best.

Prayer Request: Conversion and marriage

Request:

There is a boy who is Hindu and we wish to marry. We’ve known each other for 10 years. I told him I can’t marry him unless he becomes Muslim and he agreed to become Muslim. Little by little I am trying to guide him into our path but I know he still believes in his religion and practices it. Shaykh is there a prayer you can advise for me so that Allah (swt) will open up his heart and guide him to our reality so that he converts with his heart? Also can you advise me on how to go about teaching him where he will understand the religion easily?

Response:

Recite daily seven times in your du`as (for example after each prayer): “Allahumma Muqallib al-qulub thabbit qulubana `ala dinika”

اللهم مقلب القلوب ثبت قلوبنا على دينك

He will not understand through discussions but by meeting a Prophetic inheritor and seeing him in action.

Advice Marriage

Question:

Asalaamualaikum,
I have been thinking of marriage for awhile now but because of low self esteem I find it hard to actually take another step. I was wondering if you have any supplication to read for a suitable partner although I have someone who I think will be suited for me. If there is anything that I can read to make a success for me and marriage with this person.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Insha-Allah Allah make it easy for you and send someone very good for you. Recite Ya Razzaq 100 times daily.

Prayer Request: Ramadhan Difficulties

Request:

Assalamu Alaykum,

Please ask Mawlana Ash-Shaykh Hisham to pray that whatever I’m asking which is good to be answered, especially one thing which I’m asking above all others.
Also please ask for some advice about Ramadan. I’ve got a distinction so far in the taught part of my masters, but I’m not able to do much work in Ramadan on my thesis and I need to change this immediately. However, I am finding it hard especially since I’m maintaing my 1 hour excercise a day which I need as much mentally as physically. If I were more efficient I would be able to fit everything in, but I feel fatigued from the fast and my ability to push myself to this level of efficiency is being diminished leading me to feel lazy or prone to having a ‘break’.

Thanks, Assalamu Alaykum.

Response:

wa `alaykum salam,

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham will pray for you. A break may be just what you need to regroup. Above the mental and physical is the spiritual for which we were created. Fatigue is normal when they are not in line with the latter. As the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) said, “None of you [truly] believes until his likes and dislikes are in line with what I have brought.”

Dream: Cliff, cat and Dr. Tahir al-Qadri

Dream:

Asalamualaikam WRWB, there are a few dreams which I want to interpret.
1) Me and my brother were in a car. Suddenly it goes of a cliff to the open waters and while falling down I’m calm and read durood shareef. END.
2) Repeated dreams of cats attacking me till the point where I have to pull or beat them out of being stuck in my flesh (in reality I love cats and am not scared of them).
3) In a khutba on Friday I got confused as the imam said the sahabas had differences amongst them regarding a matter (real life). The following night Tahir ul Qadri appered in my dream telling me its ok and not to worry and to trust him and he showed me a book which looked like the kaaba (black with gold writing in traditional Arabic.)

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

The car signifies travel, which may be dangerous, unless for a lawful reason that will put blessing in it. Hostile cats represent tests and distress from someone close. The Sahaba were all one around the Holy Qur’an and it is impermissible to delve in their differences and risk losing one’s religion.
