Prayer Request: Problems with Dua

Request:

Assalamualaikum warahmatulla hiwabaraqatu,

I have been very stressed out about this issue but I hope I will not be judged negatively.
Shaykh, staffs, haji/ hajjah’s,
I’ve been praying and I have asked dua‘s many times but yet nothing has occured in the sense my dua‘s were probably not accepted. Some people say it will be but most probably in the after life. However, I honestly think it has to do with me. I do not know how to pray with intensity, passion and 100% concentration. I am positive that if any of these are being endeavored within my soul, there is a slight chance my dua‘s maybe accepted. How do I get that feeling? And If this is not it What is wrong?

Response:

wa `alaykum salam,

In general most of our du`as are not accepted because we are too busy making sins. That is why it is best to ask someone pure and (nearly) sinless to pray for us, for their du`a is acceptable.

The Prophet (s) said:

Indeed Allah – the Most High -is good and accepts only that which is good. Allah has ordered the Believers to do that which He commanded the Messengers. Allah – the Most High -has said:

{0 you Messengers! Eat of the good things and do righteous actions.} (Surat al-Mu’min, 23:51).

And He – the Most High – says:

{O you who Believe! Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you.} (Surat al-Baqarah 2:172).

Then he mentioned the case of a man who, having joumeyed far, and is dishevelled and dusty and  spreads out his bands to the sky (in du`a) :’ O Lord! O Lord!’

Meanwhile his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful and he is nourished unlawfully. So how can he be answered!

and Allah knows best,

Dream: Dead people

Dream:

assalamou alaikoum. last week my friend got married with a converted to Islam man.. she dreamt of about 9dead people she had known and among them for the first tym she hav dreamt of her grand father talking to her.. everyone were alive n she was preparing their funeral as they hav to die again(in the dream)… but she was along with them preparing for her young sister n young neighbor’s death n in reality they r not dead! n in the same dream her motherinlaw (who is a hindu) had to share a cake but was ill n my friend was teaching her how to perform namaz. please answer back… my friend is really worried… assalam

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

This dream indicates those 9 were holy ones and thus were granted to “die before you die” and thus their physical death for them was not an issue; they are ones who are free in the grave, for their souls reached the level of “die before you die” in this life.

And insha-Allah she will be a means to guide her Hindu in-laws to our way by the most gentle and courteous of manners and approach.

And Allah knows best.

24000 Allah Allah

Question:

asalaam. my question is.
i am baith with another naqshbandi sheikh alhamdululla i read all the wazaifs theyve given . like the khatham ul kwajgaan shareef. 10 000 darood khizri. and i wanted to ask what the bebifit on reciting Allah Allah 24000 times is. i mean its zikr it definetly has benifit but any secret specifically which i shud know and wil increase my enthusiasm towards reading this zikr
and how shud it be read with tounge slowly so no one can hear or abit loud specifically
if sheikh hisham kabaani could please answer
jazakAllah

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

It is tark al-adab, against good manners to the Shaykh to ask “what is the benefit of the wird my shaykh gave me?”

As for reciting Allah’s Holy Name, one of the benefits, out of an infinite number of benefits, is that Name will become inscribed in your heart, and take you to the station of Fana Fillah, insha-Allah.

Regarding the numbers of repetitions, and their importance, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani said in a suhbat dated March 22, 2002:

Now numbers, there is significant in numbers as we explained before in these meetings. Some of you did not hear it, but some of you heard it, about significance of number in Holy Quran and we explained about Surat al-Hadid, about the Surah in the Quran whose number is 57. And in Surat al-Hadid, the Chapter Iron and other suras, Iron is mentioned in Holy Quran in 5 places. And the verse of Surat al-Hadid mentioning Iron is verse 25 and if you add the Bismillah (as a numbered verse) it is 26. So if you put these together you will find that there are 5 isotopes of Iron that find scientists know about today. The middle of these has an atomic mass of 57. The number of electrons in the atom of iron is 26.

So how Quran knew it? This is from the majaazul-Quran, from the secret of scientific discovery in the Holy Quran. We are speaking about the importance of specific numbers. So here are numbers that we might not understand why it is 900,951 angels. We don’t know. But awliya’ullah knows and one day the significance of these angels will come out. As they are discovering now significance of numbers in Holy Quran and holy Hadith. So these breath that have been given, they count the breaths of awliya’ullah, and on every breath 900,951 angels comes. So every day there are 24,000 breaths coming in and going out.  So 24,000 multiplied by 900,951 and then multiply it by the number of awliya’ullah that are inheritors of Prophet – 124,000 inheritors in every century and this will give you the number of angels that come and go every day visiting the Prophet (s). Trillions, there is no count! This is to show the greatest that Allah swt gave Prophet (s).

Grandshaykh, may Allah bless him, said that whoever makes salawat on Prophet (s) in that month (Rabi`ul-Awwal) one time Allah swt will take 100 of your difficulties away from you. When you are giving your last breath out from your life, I.e. you are dying, Allah will relieve 100 difficulties on every salawat on Prophet (s) you made.

Think how many difficulties we are going to face when we are giving our breath out, when we are dying. One salawat will take 100 difficulties, and another 100 difficulties when the angels enter when Munkar and Nakir comes to you to question you in the grave, He will take away another 100 difficulties, and He will take 100 difficulties on the Day of Resurrection, and He will take 100 difficulties when you are walking on Sirata ‘l-Mustaqim, and He will take 100 difficulties when you are in the presence of Allah where He is taking you to account, balancing your `amal.

Advice on Reading Romance Novels

Question:

Asalaamualaykum wr wb..

I study English Literature for College and the novels I have to analyse are of the ‘Romance’ genre..
I feel embarassed and ashamed when I read such novels and skip the distasteful parts but I feel that I am wasting my time..Particularly since we are in the Holy Month of Ramadaan and I want to reap as many benefits as possible..
I enjoy studying this subject and i’m very good at it but this particular obstacle is difficult to overcome..
It’s not as if i am studying it out of interest – but rather academic reasons, does that make it OK? and should i therefore be less agitated as my intention is pure?

Please advise me on this ..
May Allah Reward You for the Honour of His Most Honourable Creation,

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Since you are skipping the “haram” parts just consider it as a course requirement and a hurdle to be overcome on the path to something more useful, and a means of earning provision, and Allah makes it easy insha-Allah. The alternative is worse, to drop the course and possibly miss your graduation time table… etc. and Allah knows best.

وَبِالنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ – wa bi ‘n-najmi hum yahtadun – { and by the stars (men) guide themselves.} (an-Nahl 16:16)

These five stars represent Ahli Bayt an-Nabi (s): al-Mustafa wal-Mujtaba wa Fatima wa abnahuma, Sayyidina Muhammad (s), Sayyidina Ali (r), Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra (as) and their two sons, Sayyidina al-Hassan (as) and Sayyidina al-Husayn (as). Question:

Salam sidi, i had 3 dreams need interpreting plz 1) i am in my house and i tell an acquaintance the attic is haunted and he goes there, suddenly i see2jinns who take the form of my brother and cousin, i tell him to recite ayat al kursi and he recites it incorrectly, so i try reciting but i am experiencing sleep paralysis and cant move my tongue, and i am semi conscious n slowly waking up, with great difficulty i recite the kursi, falaq and nas n i am fully awake and the burden goes away once my tongue started reciting. 2)there are jinns in my home.i recite quran at them for protection 3)i am in a restaurant and see a shaytan but cannot see his face as a woman is standing between us, i am slightly scared but recite kursi and falaq2him n wake up. jazakallah

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

These dreams are visualization of what is actually happening to you in your sleep where evil jinn are attempting to attack you, and Allah knows best.

To prevent this, before sleeping, make wudu then pray 2 raka`ats Tahiyyat al-wudu and  recite Surat al-Ikhlas 3x, Surat al-Falaq 3x, Surat an-Nas 3x, Ayat al-Kursi and Surat al-Fatiha and then blow over your whole body, and turn in full circle blowing around you, insha-Allah you and your family will be protected.

For further explanation, see the Post “Suffocation“.
