BismillahirRahmanirRahim

Wa alaikum salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

It is important in our worship of Allah that we are in the company of the righteous spiritually and physically if possible. In this case you are reminded of the spiritual presence of Mahdi (Alaihi salaam) and it importance, as his physical appearance is near we must prepare spiritually to be present with him (Alaihi salaam) and Jesus Christ (Alaihi salaam). It is a healing and a guidance.

black magic and payment

Question:

i recently contacted you, re my relationship issues. i have been speaking to someone from India/Pakistan who said there has is black magic done on both of us – he said theres a jinn with me. he is asking for money to remove the jinn and all black magic.

Answer:

All such offers are simply charlatans seeking to pull you in. They themselves will then send some jinn to you to create disturbances in your life and then keep asking more and more to “help”.

Instead play the video recitation… Nonstop in your home, keep your face prayers and sleep on wudu. Allahu `alam.

Concealing sins from fiance but feel very guilty for not being honest

Question:

My fiance has been completely honest about her sexual past. I have committed zina a few times in past and repented. I have decided to conceal my past zina BUT feel very guilty of hiding my past as she has been honest. What shall I do?How to overcome guilt?

Answer:

The sexual past, even if formed of licit relationships, is not something one shares, even less shares proudly, even less if the past includes zina. It would be enough to admit, for the sake of honesty, that one has been married in the past and that’s that.

One should keep the rest to oneself, and even more so if it consists in sins which Allah has covered up for one. “Allah does not like publicizing wrongdoing except if one has been wronged” Surat al-Nisa’ (4:148).

The Prophet, upon him blessings and peace, said: “All in my Umma are forgiven except those who publicize wrong; Allah covers up the wrong they did and they divulge it” (Bukhari).

The way to overcome guilt is not to share such one’s own moral burden with others but to make istighfar, to ask Allah forgiveness while protecting others from its heaviness, and to keep little by little trying to become a better person in every humble way possible. That brings light and ease into your life and the lives of those near you, with help from Allah.

Tahajjud

Question:

Is it true that the person who will always pray tahajjud will go to jannah without accounting. And if not then what can I do to go to jannah without accounting?

Answer:

As-Salamu ‘Alaikum,

The Prophet (peace be upon him) is reported to have said: “All the nations were shown to me, and I saw a prophet accompanied by a small group of his followers, another with two or three people of his followers and a third not accompanied by any follower.” At the end of the Hadith, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Among my Ummah there are seventy thousand who would enter Jannah without being brought to account or being punished.”

When the Sahabah (Companions of the Prophet Muhammad) asked who these people were, the Prophet (peace be upon him) replied:

“They are those who do not seek Ruqyah (recitation for healing or protection); they are those who do not get themselves cauterized; and they are those who do not believe in bad omens; rather, they put their trust in their Lord.”

Prayer times and Qibla direction in the Shafi’i school

Question:

Does one have to do ijtihad of the prayer time and qibla direction for every prayer? Can one follow a timetable, and if so, does one have to check it every time, or is it permissible to rely on one’s memory of the previous day’s time, for example.

Answer:

In residential settings once suffices for as long as one resides there. As for prayer times in the absence of adhan one needs to be sure, and if memory affords certainty then it suffices, if not then one needs to check. In travel through desert lands or non-Muslim urban settings devoid of mosques and adhan, one needs to do everything mentioned for each prayer as described in detail in Imam Ghazali’s “Book of Travel and Travellers” which is explained in full here:

The parts on obligatory ijtihad in travel are from Class 23 to the end.
