Does death by cancer make on a martyr?

Question:

as salāmu alaykum shaykh

I hope you are well in shā Allah.

In one of your articles posted on sunnah.org, it was stated:

“The one who dies of Dhaatul-Janb is a martyr.” Ibn Hibban and others.

Dhatul-Janb is a disease in which a swelling happens in a membrane under the rib bones that could lead to death. From the contemporary diseases to which this also applies is death due to cancer.

Does this apply to all cancers or specific cancers?

Answer:

Alaykum salam,

There are so many hadiths stating that tests and diseases are a purification for the believer that it would be logical to extend its meaning to all cancers.

Coerced Divorce

As-Salaam alaikum,

I was approached about rulings on a marriage situation and I said that I would look for an answer. Any help would be appreciated.

A couple who are Hanafi, in Pakistan, have a relative here trying to help them with some clarification.

A 26 year old female married a 40+ year old male. After a short time there were family disputes and the male was pressured by his family to pronounce 3 divorces over a period of months (the final talaq in the presence of her family).  The girl moved back in with her family, but continued to speak with the man who ‘divorced’ her.  Now after the man has distanced himself from the pressure of his family. the couple have moved back in together. (two weeks after the official final ‘divorce’)

Was the divorce legally binding in the first place even though there was there was coercion involved?

Is the young lady and man committing zina even though they, the couple consider themselves married (despite pronouncements)?

Any insight would help,

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

If they were both coerced and never had such intention as divorce then their marriage is perfectly valid and the burden of sin and undue interference between a husband and wife is on their families.

dream about Prophet (S) .

Question:

As salamualikum,

I had a dream, Prophet Muhammad (s) and me standing on top of the mountain, and He is giving me a sword and I am taking the sword from Him.

thank you.

Answer:

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

Wa `alaykum as-salam wa Rahmatullah,

Mountain means your ego. The sword means the sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhis salam). So this dream is a  good tiding for you because you have seen the Holy Messenger (sallallahu alayhis salam) and and also an encouragement and support that you should start following the sunnah and subdue the egotistical desires in order to achieve love of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alayhis salam).

travelling through ocean in ship

Question:

I was travelling in ship with my younger brother & friends. I saw trees in ocean very beautiful view. I reached the destination. level of water was so deep so I said YA GOUS E AZAM AL MADAD. then saw level of water was too low.

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm

Wa `alaykumu s-salāmu wa rahmatu l-lāhi wa barakātuh

This true dream represents your spiritual quest. Water represents Allah’s Mercy. Calling on Awliya’ullah because the water is too deep means that you did not reach yet the level of complete submission that is required to dive in the oceans of Ma`rifah. But with the support of Awliya’ullah, you will be spiritually trained until you are able to reach that level insh Allah.

And Allah knows best,

About marriage

Question:

I had had a dream where me and the the girl I want want want to marry, visited the Kabah. We found a stone that was loose loosened pulled it off to look at it and could be opened to see inside that stone. The dream ends at that point.

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm

Wa `alaykumu s-salāmu wa rahmatu l-lāhi wa barakātuh

It means that this girl is good for you for marriage insh Allah. Another meaning regarding seeing the Ka`aba in a dream is that you are seeing and knowing the manifestation of Allah’s Light in your heart; as the heart of a mu’min is the house of Allah, as the Prophet (s) said.

And Allah knows best.
