Hidden shirk

Question:

Aslamualaykum

I just wanted to ask about this article. http://www.naqshbandi.org/teachings/topics/on-hidden-shirk/

Does this mean that if someone worships Allah for paradise he is committing shirk that takes him out of Islam. Or does it have a different meaning. I am confused on this.

Wasslaam

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

No, it is correct to worship Allah hoping for Paradise and fearing Hellfire; however, we also need to know He does not owe us anything. In other words we owe Him worship just because He is our Rabb Who created us–not because of Paradise and Hell. {Ya ayyuha al-nas u’budu Rabbakum al-ladhi khalaqakum}.

The meaning of the answer I got in Istikhara about Tareeqa

Question:

Assalamu Alaikum respected Aalims,
I performed an Istikhara with Qur’an to seek Allah’s guidance about asking for a Naqshbandi Tareeqa. I saw this way of Istikhara in a Sufi site managed by a mureed of Maulana Jalal ud Deen Rumi ( R.A ). When I performed the Durood and Faatiha and everything else and opened the Qur’an like they said….I reached the 124th Aayath of Surah Nahl. starting from ”innamaa ju’ila ssabthu………yakhthalifoon. ( Meaning : The sabbath was only appointed for those who differed over it. And indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.)

Can you please guide me to its true meaning with the connection of my intention ( whether to take baya or not with Sheikh Nazim )

May Allah bless your mother and father…..your wife and children….Aameen

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

Obvious goodness does not need istikhara. The only murid and khalifa of Mawlana Rumi we know of in our experience is Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and all we can advise is: take bayaa and trust in Allah.

Purity of the Self

My name is [private]. I am 17 years old. Im really into sufism but i couldn’t find any syeikh here. I dont think there is one in my country. I would like to achieve the purity of the self so that Allah will love me and raise my rank in His sight but Im having trouble overpowering my lust. I lower down my gaze in public but I tend to watch unlawful things when I am alone which leads to a sinful action. I want to stop but its really hard. I keep doing and repenting and doing it again. What should I do? I wish I had a syeikh so I can spend most of my time with him. I want to go to another state to search for one but im still studying at school. Help me, please.

A wife’s rights in hadith

Question:

Assalamualaikum Shaykh,

I have been dating with a man for years and we are planning to get married but he wants me to stay with his parents and a younger brother which I refused. He still insist me to stay with them when we nikah. I believe that every wife deserve their own home and he keep asking me to prove him if there is any hadith saying that a wife deserve their own home and possible if they do not stay with their in laws.

Jazzakallah Khairan

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

Allah Most High said husbands must lodge their wives where they themselves live and according to their means. However, he also made it fard to treat them fairly and not as employees and servants for himself, let alone others. With in-laws in the house it needs no demonstration that the wife’s rights are trampled and disrespected. Therefore, in the Fiqh of the Four Schools there is agreement that she deserves her own home and that she does not have to cook or clean for her spouse, let alone his relatives.
