Dream: Moon crashing into Sun then into Earth

Dream:

As salaam alykum to all linked to this site, may Allah reward you for you’re hard work.

I had a dream recently I was sick from a winter virus, in the dream I see myself as I am today gone back to my high school in the same physical appearance, soon in my dream I am sitting, I believe, in a vehicle and look at the moon and there is lightening coming from it. I alerted everyone in the vehicle to look at that, as soon as I did the moon went crashing in to the sun and then the sun came crashing on to the earth slowly. Everything ahead of me was disappearing and I hear a voice saying “now they will believe that the day of judgement is true but it is too late.” I start praying fatiah in my dream and then wake up sweating. Please explain.

Interpretation:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

Walaikum Assalam,

InchaAllah, this dream is a wake up call for you to take your faith more seriously, and to devote more of your time for Allah’s service.

Allah knows best,

Ali Elsayed

Dream: Snatching knife from my father

Question:

I saw that my father bought some knifes in a scarf, I saw and snatched them and I was beating my father, he could not defend himself, and was wearing white dress. Then my eyes opened.

I saw this type of dream before, please tell me what it means, I am worried.

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

This dream can mean that your father
is careful with his sharp words therefore
he covers them with a scarf.

It is a battle or argument with words
(sharp knifes) that can penetrate the
heart and they are more deadly than the
real knifes.

Find a way to communicate with your father
with words that have love and respect toward
your him.

And Allah (swt) knows best.

Dream: Trains

Dream:

Asalaam alaikum,

Recently I have been having many dreams about riding on a train. Sometimes my parents are with me and other times I’m surrounded by unknown people, mostly women. Is there any reason why my dreams have had this recurring theme?

Thank you for your time.

Interpretation:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

Wa alaykum salam,

This dream can mean that at your
age you are thinking about marriage
and that is what you are carrying
in your train of life.

You can change it by doing Dikr
before you go to bed , make wudu
then do “Hasbunal lahu wa ni3mal wakeel
at least 300 time before sleep.

And Allah (swt) knows best.

Dream: Island

Dream:

I had a dream that I was on an island in a car with my husband. But all of a sudden my husband disappears and I realize that their is a known man that looks like his cousin next to me driving the car instead. We were in the middle of the island trying to get out but couldn’t, we were surrounded by a body of water. We ended up being in a helicopter just standing up high in the body of water. Please interpret. Thank you.

Interpretation
:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

This dream can mean that a project
or a business that your husband was
driving is going to be saved by someone
who is going to make sure it does not fall
in an overwhelming debt (surrounded by
the flood).

And Allah (swt) knows best.

Auction sales

Question:

AsSalamuAlaikum,

Is it halal to buy and sell auction units. These auction units are usually items like cars or household objects that are taken back by the bank due to failure of payment, or taken by the government for not paying fees etc. Or they are abandoned for whatever reason. And when they are being sold, they are usually sold at a much lower price than its real value due to the circumstances. Is it permissible to buy these types of units that once belonged to someone else for cheap and make money out of it? And these are usually from non-Muslims, I don’t know if it really matters if the previous owner was a Muslim or not though. Thank you!

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

It is permissible to buy and sell by auctions items that are halal.

Qushayri on hunger/fasting

Question:

Salaam alaykum Sheikhs,

I have 2 different translations of Qushayri’s Risala. In the chapter on hunger, one of them translates: ..I heard Ibn Salim say: “The proper rule of one who practices hunger is to limit one’s daily meal to the size of a cat’s ear.”

The other translates it as:
“The proper conduct with regard to hunger is for a person to diminish what he is accustomed to eating by an amount no larger than a cat’s ear.”

Please can you tell me which is right?

(PS. on the subject of hunger, can one who practices eating once a day carry on like that during Ramadan or should he break his fast in the evening?)

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

The correct translation is the second one. Al-`Arusi said in his marginalia on Shaykh al-Islam’s commentary on the Qushayriyya: “What is meant is that discipline is pursued only gradually due to the Lawgiver’s (upon him blessings and peace) emphasis on the conservation of health and lest one tires and becomes overwhelmed if suddenly depriving oneself.”

In our own times what is meant is not to break fast with more food than one is accustomed to eat, but less. As Imam Ghazali said on the inner dimensions of fasting, “Do not overeat to make up for your fast and thereby cancel its benefit.”

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim said the Qushayriyya is not a book one reads alone. Furthermore it is a book for the people of a bygone time, thus he does not recommend to practice it but only to increase your love for Awliya through it. Mawlana’s recommendation with regard to voluntary fasting in our time is to begin by leaving the haram.

As for the question “can one who practices eating once a day carry on like that during Ramadan or should he break his fast in the evening?” one can certainly do both, since one can break fast with a mere cup of water or bowl of soup in the evening, and eat something more substantial before dawn. Thus one will have the angels supplicate for one at both
times, and also reap the huge benefits of congregational worship since these occasions are often communal.

About becoming a mureed

Question:

Asalamualaikum,

I’m sorry if it’s against rule or deen. I have asked permission to be a Naqshbandi Shaykh’s mureed and I was granted permission. I haven’t started practicing the dhikr’s but my question is: can I have permission (from Naqshbandi, as I got permission for becoming a mureed) to become a mureed of Muhyedheen Shyakh (Q). I’m a great lover of Gausul Aa’lam.

I’m sorry if its wrong to ask so after getting permission for becoming a Naqshbandi mureed. If its wrong I’m sorry and wish to be a Naqshbandi. Could you please help me get the details and whom can I ask for about bayaa and dhikrs.

May Allah grant you all health and peace.

Asalamualaikum

Answer:

When you took baya` with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani you took
baya` with the highest Calipha of Ghawth al-`azham.

Dream: Gift from Shaykh Tahir al-Qadri

Dream:

I dreamed I was walking down some rather steep stone stairs and waiting for me at the bottom was Shaykh Tahir al-Qadri looking anxious and concerned. When I got to the bottom he began thanking me for something while holding what looked like a large red book with gold Arabic lettering on the cover, holding it in such a way that the front cover was facing me, ready for me to simply take, open and read. After a few moments, he handed me the “Book” and left. I began walking back up the stairs and opened it to find it wasn’t a book but a tin box with a hinged lid, with some blank sheets of paper inside. I closed the lid and continued walking up the stairs wondering if all the sheets were blank.

Interpretation:

It means you were losing your spirituality and the prayers of your spiritual master for you have turned you around. They have cleaned your “book of deeds” with their istighfar and left it a blank sheet to write good deeds in, and Allah knows best.

Tahaarah

Question:

Assalamo alaikum,

When me and my wife have physical relations in bed at night the next day we change the bed-sheets however the blanket remains unchanged. The next night when I sleep on the bed with blanket I have feeling as if I am unclean as the blanket is not changed and maybe the impurity on mattress (foam) under the bed-sheet has made me unclean me. I offer Isha prayer and go to bed but due to this feeling I miss Fajr thinking I am unclean. Then I take shower in the morning. I never had this feeling before. Please advise ya Shaykh, as I am really disturbed and sad to miss Fajr prayer.

Wassalaam.

May Allah give our Shaykh a healthy and long life and increase his maqaam. Allahumma sallay ala Sayyidina Muhammad wa ala aali sayyidina Muhammad wasallim

Answer:

Wa`alaykumussalam,

There are two issues here:

1- Regarding the rule of semen. It depends on your school of Fiqh. Semen is (Najas) impure according to Hanafi and Maliki, but pure in Shafi’i and Hanbali. For the former two schools, you must wash the stain off your clothes or bedsheet, etc, but for the latter it suffices to scrape it off when dry, however recommended to wash them completely especially if the garment is also used for prayer.

2- Your own feelings. You need to make sure that the 3 physical signs are present to determine your next action: sight, smell and taste. Only when any of these are present, then act according to which school of Fiqh you are following.

And Amin to your du`a!

Abdul Shakur
