Dream: Hospital and Mosque

Dream:

Assalamu’alaikum dear Shaykhs,

I was cycling to attend a course, reached a hospital, was looking for the course venue and saw a distant uncle with a woman and teenager I don’t recognise. The teenager is ill, and they are surprised to see me. I offered Uncle my bicycle since I don’t need it anymore after the course. He accepted it reluctantly. I walked away, telling myself don’t tell mum I saw them because she’ll tell others. I reached my community mosque with some half built minarets. The Basmallah and other Arabic script that I can’t read are written on 2 minarets on the left and right of the mosque. Hindu people were walking around and I looked around to confirm it’s our mosque. Another smaller building is being built further away. Some Muslims of my ethnicity were there.

In truth, our mosque is raising money to build a community hall.

Interpretation:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem:

Wa alaikum salaam,

This dream speaks of the importance in mosque activities related to family, especially young people and interfaith work. Also that healing should be part of the intention of the mosque, healing from sicknesses of the heart and self.

About Love

Question:

Assalaamoalailkum brother and sisters,

I would like to know something. I really love someone, I can do anything for him but he doesn’t care about me at all. He ignores me all the time. He doesn’t even do anything for me. Is there any dua I can do to melt his heart for me, to love me more than anything, do anything for me, be crazy for me the way I am crazy for him? I want to see him in same situation that I’m going through. Please answer me as soon as possible.

Jazakallah.

Answer:

Wa ‘alaykum salam,

While falling in love is something that does happen, often it is only an infatuation, with no reality. Our way is marriage and our approach to marriage is to have our shaykhs and family choose an appropriate spouse who will go along with the family and our religious and spiritual values.

So if Shaykh and family see this person fit for you, you may recite the Du`a of Sayyidina Dawud (as).

Spirituality

Question:

I am trying to thread the path of tassawuf but my nafs overpowers me sometimes. I know it’s a difficult path but think it’s the way for me. Please give me advice. Can I read something for strength to overpower nafs.

Shukran

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem:

Remember Surat Az-Zumar ayat 53: “Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed Allah forgives all sins. Indeed He is the forgiving the Merciful.”

Do not despair but remember the Mercy of Allah and believe in the Shafa’ah of his Prophet (saws) and do your best to increase Love in your worship. recite La hawla wa la quwata illa billahi l ‘ali al ‘adheem’ 100x a day, and Ya Wadud 100x a day.

Dream: Fox

Dream:

Salam,

I had a dream where a fox was chasing me. But later on some person, I do not remember who, saved me, in a way he got the fox away. Later on I saw the fox again, it was trying to bite me but couldn’t as I would push his face away with some empty box. I would like to know what this dream means in detail.

Thanks

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

It means to avoid lying and backbiting, and Allah knows best.

Is this authentic?

Question:

Asalamalykum,

I have come across this hadith and would like to know if it’s Sahih, and it’s true meaning, and if it has translated properly:

“If you see a man taking pride in his ascription to a people in the manner of Jahiliyyah, tell him to go bite his father’s penis and do not sugarcoat my words.” [‘Sahih Al-Jami'(567), and As-Silsilah As-Sahihah’ (269)]

JazakAllah Khaira.

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

There is weakness in it but it is overall authentic; however, the translation is grossly inaccurate considering the hadith is about words.

A correct translation would be: “Whoever calls out (another wording has: glorifies himself) in the way of Jahiliyya, tell him to go bite on his father’s thing (‘han‘ or ‘hann‘) and [if needs be] do not sugarcoat it.”

That is how most of the scholars explained it. Another paraphrase (by Imam al-Sarkhasi in Sharh al-Siyar al-Kabir) would be: “Prevent him but do not vilify him” أراد به والله أعلم أن امنعوه عن ذلك ولا تذكروه بسوء .

Either way there is no mention of “my words” and certainly no mention of “penis” even if that is the import of the hadith. Ibn al-Athir said in al-Nihaya: “The word han or hann is used in lieu of another word to euphemize it.” In other words the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) himself is using a euphemism but ordering them not to if needs be. The gist is that such people should be stopped with the strongest and most vulgar verbal condemnation because they deserve it, as another hadith states: “Leave tribal  partisanship because it carries a stench.”

And Allah knows best.

Permissibility of wearing short pants

Question:

Is it permissible to wear shorts when participating in sports like running, cycling,  swimming, etc.?

Answer:

Some views from within the Madhab of Imam Malik bin Anas [Allah be
pleased with him]

Here we cite:

Imam Malik distinguishes between Awrah Mughalladha [heavy awrah] and Awrah Muhakhaffafa [lighter awrah]. For a male the mughalladha are the private parts while the rest of the body is considered as mukhaffafa. It is forbidden for a man to expose his heavy awrah before the public while it is Ja-iz [permissible] to expose the remaining lighter awrah if a need arises. Some hold the opinion that it is Makru [disliked] to expose the lighter awarah in public [like in the sport of football as mentioned in the question]. If we consider the Madhab of Imam Malik then participating in football wearing a shorts with the thigh exposed is permissible or at most disliked but not prohibited. The remaining schools of thought, namely the Shafi’iyya, Ahnaf/Hanafiya and Hanabila/Hanbali might differ with Imam Malik on the point of heavy and lighter awrah but it is an opinion within the four Sunni schools of the thought, which has been mentioned and considered for over a thousand years.

Different Lights

Question:

Assalaamu Allaykum,

I just wanted to ask what it means to see different coloured lights after prayer or just whilst walking around. I would really be grateful if I got a list in reply with all possible colours to see and their explanation.

Also I wanted to ask specifically what it means to see white, green, blue and green when I closed my eyes after praying isha and doing my wird that my shaykh has given me.

JazzakaAllah please do forgive me for my poor manners.

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem:

Wa alaikum Salaam,

These are angelic and heavenly colors. Some of them are related to subtle layers-lataif of the heart for example white is sirr-a-sirr, green is khafa, that you may study about at nurmuhammad.com. What is important is that is shows the heavenly manifestations dressing you.

Dream: Books

Dream:

I did istikhara to choose between finishing my science degree or change to professional training or to get married. I saw me sitting on a roof with my previous home owner (old married man) and a woman maid (covered in black I cannot see her face). The home owner is teaching the issue of haq mehar and saying every woman is given haq mehar according to her level. On the same roof a khatib teaching people so I listened to it. Khatib left & I also start going then the same woman gave me a bag which is full of fictional magazines, some are bonded books. I tell her these are of no use to me. In bag there is her used black silk sequin dress which seems to be not of my liking but I wear it anyway and with a matching black sequin hijab & feel okay. Also, there is open tin box with little dry milk.

Interpretation:

Roof represents the more difficult but more rewarding level. Useless fiction is dunya and illusions. Used sequin is the way of safety and comfort represented by marriage, and Allah knows best. If you passed the midpoint of your degree then finish it and you can have everything else as well, as your haq mehar will be highest.

Am I still in the tariqa?

Question:

Assalam alaikum all,

Am I still in the tariqa if I am not reading my awrad regularly?

Do we have the permission of reading the dua of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani asking for help from the Rijal al Allah and Rijal al Ghayb?

I saw a few months ago a man in my dream, I don’t remember any thing about that dream except that the man was Prophet Isa a.s. Was it really him? Thank u so much.

Jazakallah khair

Answer:

Wa ‘alaykum salam,

As Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani has stated repeatedly you cannot leave the tariqa, especially due to lack of reading the awrad. Whatever you miss of your spiritual duties, our shaykhs are doing on our behalf and granting that to us. Which does not mean we must not do them but rather not to despair. When you took the hand of your shaykh you have fulfilled the Covenant made on the Day of the Promises and Covenants that your shaykh will guide you and carry your mistakes.
