Dream: Surah Fatiha

Question:

Dear Shaikh,

Salams,
I had a dream that I was holding hands (with the man I want to marry in real life) and in the dream I knew he was my husband. We then looked across a field and big buffaloes/ wilderbeast were trying to scare us. At that point my ‘husband’ looked at me and said ‘pray Surah Fatihah‘. I then recited Surah Fatihah from beginning to end in the most beautiful voice. The buffaloes then ran away.

Are you able to interpret this dream? I am going through the process of marriage which has become difficult. However I have dreams that make me believe he is the right man for me. I have also seen a dream where I was flying in the air and prayed part of Surah Fatihah whilst knowing in my dream I am marrying this man.

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

Dreams are excellent and indicate benefit and protection over tests. Trust in Allah and go ahead.

Istikarah – MSH, please

Question:

Asalaam alaikum wr wb beloved eshaykh staff and Maulana Shaykh Hisham.

Please could Maulana Shaykh Hisham please do istikarah for me if I should study to become a Islamic scholar? MSH told me to connect my heart to MSN and do whatever comes to heart. I recently joined a course in my town about basic Islamic knowledge and after my first lesson I felt as though I should study about Islam and do a course to become a scholar. I talked to my dad who is also a mureed and he laughed at me and wants me to go university. I don’t want to go and have a big financial debt on me for the rest of my life. After I began to cry as if all my sins were forgiven. Could you please do istikarah.
Jazak Allah Khairan.

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

You can go to a university that has a department of Islamic studies and ask your father to help you with school fees.

Marriage problems early on

Question:

I was married for two and a half months to a man of my choice, my husband started to tell his parents small things we shared or arguments and after two and a half months he and his parents kicked me out. After three months separation he decided he wants to divorce me. I’m very distressed as I feel he just planned this all along. I’ve kept up with prayers and tried to reconcile but he doesn’t want to know. Islamically shariat didn’t warrant divorce but he us adamant for this. It’s hard for me to come to terms with how he changed so soon. Please offer guidance.

Answer:

Two and a half months is still a period of honeymoon for newly-weds. No arguments or no sharing secret from the past. Pray salatul hajat 2 rakaat with niyat, asking guidance from Allah. If this man is for you, you will be together again or he may not be good for you. If so, then move on and always have patience, recite Salawat every day after prayer and Salawat Nuraniyyah 21 times daily. In sha Allah you will have a better marriage and better experience in the future.

Friend is looking for a spiritual path

Question:

My friend was born to a Sikh father and Christian mother. He was raised completely non-religious and non-spiritual. At the age of 1_ he went through a really horrible car accident with 3 friends. The car flipped over 3 times but miraculously no one was seriously injured. Since then he has become spiritual, but non-religious. He’s [private] now and becoming more and more interested in spirituality. I am trying to get him to explore Islam. He believes in only 1 God, but he has a hard time accepting a religion. He sees it as more of a constraint. Can you give me any prayer or something I can give him to practice? He is willing to give it a try. He believes in the sincerity of Muhammad and the true peaceful message of Islam but he is apprehensive about making life changing decisions related to religion.

Answer:

Let him wash his face, sit and meditate on God for 5 minutes anytime before sunrise each night, and conclude it with one prostration.

Sunnah

Question:

Asalamu alaykum sheikh,

How to attain true love for the Beloved Prophet, salala hu aleyhi wasallam, and how to stay steadfast on sunnah?

Second is, could you please name me a book which you can buy in English which strictly just talks about sunnah in as much depth as possible? I’ve read many small books  on sunnah, but is there one big book, listing all the sunnahs in English.
jazak Allah.

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

Study the suhbas of our masters and accompany them and their authorized deputies. Repeat iyyaka na’budu wa iyyaka nasta’in x70 daily for istiqama. Read the Kutub al-Sitta, Mishkat al-Masabih and Shifa.

Dream: Marriage

Question:

ASSALAMOALAIKUM,

I SAW A DREAM WHERE I SAW that I GOT MARRIED and I AM ENTERING A HOUSE WITH  the PERSON I GOT MARRIED TO. I don’t know HIM IN REAL LIFE. THIS IS THE FIRST time I HAVE SEEN A STRANGER FACE SO CLEARLY I…TOOK THE KEY FROM A PERSON…ACTUALLY I don’t REMEMBER EXACTLY WHETHER HE OPENED THE DOOR OR THE OLDER PERSON PRESENT ND HE IS AN ARAB MAN WEARING a TURBAN … Then WE ENTERED THE HOUSE  and MY HUSBAND IN that DREAM TOLD ME, You are SO SIMPLE I MEAN you haven’t put on ANY MAKE up.  I SMILED and REPLIED HIM that I WILL DO IT tomorrow…THE DREAM became REALLY BLACK  and I SAW A JINN & I’M SAVING MASELF. It’s A BIT CONFUSING.

Answer:

Wa Alaykum Salam,

Insha-Allah it means a new opening in your life improving your station, and helping in you keep the Sunnah of the Prophet of Allah (s), and as your “husband” said, “you are so simple, not wearing makeup” meaning you are not a false or pretentious person, but you are as you seem, which is an excellent quality. The last part of the dream is unimportant.

and Allah knows best,

No choice, marriage

Question:

Assalam alaikum,

My parents are forcing me to marry someone I don’t know. I keep refusing but they have even joined the alliance now I am being told that I have to marry her. I don’t know her and I don’t want to marry her. I dislike her even more now. In afew months they will take me to [private] to marry her. What do I do, is she the right one for me? I barely know her name and I have always had someone else in mind who I want to marry. Please, can you help me to know what is right?

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,

Communicate with your parents and if their plan still goes through then give it your best try and Allah will put blessing in it in sha Allah. Love will grow, it does not precede marriage.
