Prayer Request: Blessings for a intercultural mariage

Request:

Asalam aleykoum,
I moved to another country four years ago and in doing so lost touch for a long time with Tariqah and Islam. Last year, I met someone who was Muslim but not Sufi. We got married but I didn’t ask for permission. My husband and I now go to the zawiya though he has not taken bayat. We are from two very different cultures, as he is African and I am from North America. I read that usually, one must ask the Shaykh for permission before marriage, divorce and travelling. Is it too late for a blessing? We are very much in love but struggle on a daily basis to understand each other. Also, he does not have his papers and has trouble finding work. This is a perpetual source of stress and sadness between us.
Thank-you for any advice or support…

Response:

wa `alaykum salam,

InshaAllah we are praying for you. Recite Ya Hafiz daily 100 times.

Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani
