Dream: Seeing Sayyidina Jabir ibn Abdullah (r)

Dream:

Assalamalaikum beloved Mawlana Shaykh Hisham and shuyookh,

May Allah forgive for any inaccurate description. Had a brief dream while back in which Sayyidina Jabir appeared, placed his right hand over his heart and greeted me, saying “Assalamalaikum, I am Jabir ibn Abdullah,” in such a humble, shy (barely audible voice), sincere way. There was a mixture of concern and pure sincerity on his face, almost like worry.

He was so beautiful Sayyidi, ie. had such a strong presence, medium height, wearing dark green turban, a cream-ish coloured robe that was half sleeved, and a cane/stick in his left hand.

In the dream, I remember thinking, “He resembles what I would imagine Prophet (s) to be like.” I woke up feeling so good and wanted to go back to the dream.

Several days later my husband and I visited Istanbul, tried to find Sayyidina Jabir’s maqam but we couldn’t find it.

Interpretation:

`Alaykum as-Salam,

What a wonderful dream you saw! Sayyidina Jabir (Allah be well-pleased with him) in dream represents many excellent things such as: following the Sunnah (since he was one of the most abundant narrators of hadith); spiritual insight (as he lost his physical eyesight in old age); connection and inheritance to Ahl al-Bayt (represented by the gesture of his right hand mentioned in the dream); and istighfar from the Prophet (upon him blesings and peace) on his behalf, as he said that on the “night of the camel” on their return from Tabuk the Prophet made istighfar for him and his family no less than 25 times.

Therefore strengthen your Rabita to Mawlana in your time of meditation and increase your istighfar and salawat on the Prophet and his Family, upon him and them blessings and peace.
