Salaam Ula Kum,
I asked Maulana Shiekh Hisham about the validity of me and a girl nikha and they said that it is in a ‘grey’ situation. We did our nikha in secret, as our parents will not accept marriage. They have very Western perceptions about this i.e. 25+, although they know we go university together see each other every day talk everyday but they turn a blind eye. I have told them about the Islamic way but they do not listen. I wanted to ask whether it is still permissible for us to see each other although our nikah is in a grey area? Our intention is that we will get it done again once we are out of university with our parents’ consent inshallah. We are trying to be better Muslims but they are simply not listening.
